My name is Vivas T. and I am from Morristown, NJ. I am innately curious and love to learn. I have always been an exceptional student, but helping others succeed makes me just as happy as receiving an A on an exam. In high school I tutored a friend in Calculus and observing her attain those "Ah-hah" moments brought me joy. I love academics, but I also love interacting with others. I will be attending medical school next year and until then I would love to aid students not only receive higher grades, but gain study habits that will help them become lifelong learners in the future.

In high school I received an 800 on the SAT Math section and a 780 on the SAT Math II subject test. I also took BC Calculus my senior year and received a 5 on the AP exam. During my first semester of my first year at the University of Virginia I took Calculus 3 (Multivariable Calculus) and received an A-. Although this was one of the hardest classes I have ever taken, countless hours of Khan Academy and working with other students ensured my success. Math is my favorite subject and, in my eyes, is a language in and of itself. Calculus is my forte, however I have also taken Statistics in college and received an A in that as well.

At the University of Virginia I majored in Chemistry. Although never having taken AP Chemistry in high school, after my first exam in my Introductory Chemistry course, I knew it was for me. It integrated math, biology, and even some physics into a subject I had never truly explored. My favorite chemistry class I took in college was Physical Chemistry, specifically Thermodynamics. I received A's in both of my introductory physics classes at UVA and believe the mathematical similarities between mechanics and electricity and magnetism are fascinating.

After graduating from UVA I decided to pursue an M.S. in Physiology and Biophysics at Georgetown University. This program was the most rigorous academic endeavor I have experienced, but with hard work, I earned my degree, while learning a myriad of information

Algebra 1

Algebra 1

I majored in Chemistry at the University of Virginia and will be attending medical school this summer. I am currently tutoring at Huntington Learning Center in Morristown, NJ where I frequently tutor students in Algebra 1 and 2. I love math and hope to let others enjoy the subject as much as I do.
Algebra 2

Algebra 2

I was a Chemistry major at UVa and am currently transitioning between medical residency programs (I completed two years of Internal Medicine residency in Arkansas and am looking to switch to Neurology residency). I've always loved math and physics and have tutored both at the college level in the past. I was born and raised in Morristown, NJ, and am currently living here with my family. I am more than happy to help via Zoom or in-person. Tutoring is tough but I gained significant experience prior to medical school; patience and listening are key and I always do my best to present any given concept from various angles to increase the probability that my student may glean a better understanding and intuition with respect to the overall topic at hand.
Chemistry

Chemistry

I never took AP Chemistry in high school. However, during my first semester at UVA I took Intro chemistry and loved it. My forte is math and the incorporation of math into chemistry intrigued me greatly. I received As in both intro chemistry courses and decided to major in the subject. Since then I continued to gain more valuable knowledge on the subject through my masters program at Georgetown University in Physiology and Biophysics. My goal is to help other students understand the subject as best as they can and hopefully appreciate it while doing so.
Prealgebra

Prealgebra

I have taken math courses from pre algebra to multivariable calculus in college. I believe understanding the fundamentals is critical to a greater understanding of math, in general. I want to help others gain the basics they need to succeed in math, and enjoy the subject while doing so.
Quantum Physics

Quantum Physics

Studied physical chemistry at UVa which included Quantum Mechanics and Thermodynamics. Love both fields and am currently engaged in research involving the incorporation of information theory and Shannon Entropy into the field of diagnostic Psychiatry.
SAT Math

SAT Math

Received an 800 on the SAT Math section in high school. I also am tutoring in Morristown at Huntington Learning Center and took the full Math Section yesterday and received a 790. I would be more than happy to help you out.
