As an expert math tutor with more than 12 years of experience, I recognize that every student has different needs. To really understand math concepts, first you must learn the fundamentals.

I get great results, and have testimonials in the feedback sections of this profile describing how I helped a student improve from F to A and from two different clients who improved by 200+ points in combined SATs in 10 hours of tutoring. I have always helped students failing math improve to at least a C and usually better than that.

I mostly tutor calculus and honors high school math. I specialize in tutoring for advanced exams, such as the Calculus AP BC Exam and the math SAT level 2 subject test.

Teaching requires patience. I’m also aware that some learners need a variety of techniques and exercises in order to fully grasp certain concepts.

I explain math concepts in ways that are easy to understand. Memorizing concepts might work in other courses, but it doesn’t work that way with math. Abstract concepts are difficult for most people to grasp. We learn more effectively when ideas are explained in specific, concrete terms.

As an expert math ACT/SAT tutor, I patiently teach the basic mathematical facts that are included in the SAT, taking pains to guarantee that each student can complete every type of problem on that exam. I have current 790 math and 2350 composite SATs and 36 math ACTs. I have particular expertise on the math ACT, and am currently working on a book on it.

I’m WyzAnt certified in various writing areas as well and have professional experience in writing and editing, which has helped my students achieve spectacular results while improving their SAT/ writing scores.

Very patient with his students

I have only good things to say about Joseph. My son enjoys very much having his SAT practice with him. He says he is very knowledgeable and knows how to explain things in a very easy way.

Excellent tutor!

My daughter was struggling in her Calculus class and needed help preparing for her midterm. She met with Joseph and immediatly felt confident learning the material they went over. Her teacher could not believe how fast she caught up learning the material that she had been struggling with in such a short period of time. Joseph gave my daughter the confidence she needs to continue doing well in class. Highly recommended and very knowledgeable tutor! We plan to continue having lessons with Joseph.
