A little bit about myself, I graduated with a 4.0 GPA from Rutgers University in Spring 2021 with degree in Finance and Applied Mathematics with a minor in Computer Science. I’m currently a graduate student studying Computational Finance and Risk Management with a 3.9 GPA. I have almost 5 years of math tutoring experience through Bergen Community College and Rutgers University. Subjects include all ranges of math, from Arithmetic, Algebra through Calculus 2 and beyond. Through my years of tutoring, I found the passion I have for math and how useful it is in the real world and how beautiful math is. Over the years I found different techniques that I found work for all different kinds of students. I have developed the skill to adapt to the students learning style and have the patience require for students to succeed. I thrive to see students coming out of sessions with new knowledge and the confidence required to excel in their course.
Typically, I tailor the session to the students need, whether the student just needs a quick review before an exam or an in-depth lesson on course material. If a student is looking to prep for an exam, I am willing to find problems that are good candidates for test questions. I base the questions based on previous homework problems or even reviews given by the professor. Having tutored in this subject multiple time, I have been exposed to all the approaches professors use. I can adapt to the professors teaching style because the last thing a student wants to do is something the professor didn't teach. If the session is more for understanding a concept, I will prepare a mini lesson that covers all the details the student will need to know for the upcoming material. I always try to end my session with a couple of practice questions to check if the student is understanding everything we are covering. Especially for test prep, I would like to put the student in a test environment to ensure the student comes out knowing the material and the confidence to succeed.
