I am a current PhD applicant looking to help younger students improve their academic success and understanding of biological and health sciences. I previously attended Rutgers University and earned a bachelor's degree in Biological Sciences in 2023, making the dean's list on multiple occasions. Shortly after, I attended post-graduate school at the Rutgers Graduate School of Biomedical Sciences and obtained a master's degree with a 4.0 GPA in Biomedical Sciences.
I have previous experience tutoring and working with middle school students at municipal centers and libraries, and am confident in tutoring biology, microbiology, physiology, biochemistry and neuroscience anywhere from an introductory middle and high school level, AP Courses as well as at an undergraduate level. From my experience, there are many principles in each of these topics that many students find challenging, but, given proper teaching methodology to reinforce these topics, academic success can be achieved.
For me, teachers and professors make or break the learning experience of courses. I emphasize an individualized, 1-on-1 approach to learning, adapting my tutoring style to fit the student's specific needs and addressing topics they might not feel comfortable with. I also employ visual techniques for specific topics for those who might benefit from differing learning techniques. Using my in-depth knowledge in biological and health sciences as well as my individualized approach to tutoring, I will help students achieve academic success in specific areas they might not feel comfortable with, and perhaps spark further interest in students to learn about the field!
