Hi! My name is Elias. I’m currently working as a civil engineer in Western North Carolina and pursuing graduate studies in Construction and Facilities Engineering.

I believe I am highly qualified to be a tutor based on my academic track record and my ability to connect with, lead, and teach others. Throughout high school, I maintained straight A’s, graduated with a 4.2 GPA, scored 1330 on the SAT, and ranked in the top 15 of my class. After high school, I attended a community college where I honed my writing skills through liberal arts courses and built a strong STEM foundation in physics, chemistry, calculus, and differential equations. I made the dean’s list every semester and graduated magna cum laude in 2021.

I then transferred to UNCC, where I focused on engineering concepts and courses. I graduated cum laude in 2023. More recently, I tackled the PE exam—an 8-hour comprehensive test designed for engineers with four years of experience—and passed it on my first attempt within six months of starting my job. Through work, I’ve further developed my ability to explain complex engineering concepts to lower-level technicians or workers who may need guidance.

Although I haven’t formally worked as a tutor, I frequently helped my peers with studying and served as a team lead on various projects, such as dams, airports, and office buildings. I’m confident in my academic abilities, communication skills, and problem-solving abilities. My recent experience as an engineering student allows me to relate to the challenges students face. I’ve done poorly on tests numerous times, but I’ve always managed to bounce back. Whenever I needed help, there was always someone willing to help me. I have a deep desire to do the same for anybody who's there right now. I firmly believe that “where there’s a will, there’s a way,” and I’m confident in my ability to help you find your way, no matter the subject or how challenging it may seem.
