I believe that math is an important subject to study, regardless of career path. It teaches logic and problem solving which is incredibly important in every field! It also teaches structure and how to complete procedural tasks given certain information and parameters. Most importantly, it teaches patience and persistence. Math isn't always easy, but there are lots of rules and resources to make things solvable if you're willing to stick with it. I strive to break things down to help them...

Rachel is kind and understanding, she is passionate about teaching math no matter how long you have been away from the subject.
I like how Rachel includes you in the lesson. It's not all about if you follow this step which will lead you to this step and so on and on. Rachel lets the students get involved in the problem solving process. Then if your answer is not correct she will take the time to explain why the problem did not work out. Rachel goes that extra step to help the learner become a better and more understanding student and the way things are done to check yourself. For that I appreciate her expertise and her passion to teach Algebra. In just two lessons I have learned more than I could have ever imagined by just watching a learning video. MTP

A teacher who explains why, not just how!
Rachel was able to explain not only the process needed to solve the problems, but the reasons why the process is there. This in depth explanation helped my daughter see the bigger picture and the equations finally clicked for her. Rachel was someone that we will use again!

I had four lessons with Rachel L because I was struggling in my college math class. This was my first time using an online tutoring program and I was very impressed. I had a grade of D at the time I started with Rachel and by the time the semester was over I got a B on my math final and brought my whole class grade up to a C. Rachel L is a fantastic tutor. She's patient, understanding, professional, and just has an all around great attitude and personality. I highly recommend her if you or someone you know is in need of a math tutor. Rachel is amazing! She is a natural teacher. She makes things clear and accessible and doesn't move on until she is convinced the student is understanding the concepts. She goes far beyond the standard understand the concept, memorize the formula, and find the answer. She gives the student tools for when they meet those problems that aren't that simple. She reaches for a greater understanding and I very much appreciate her approach! Kaylee and Grace have very much enjoyed meeting with her!
