Early in my career, I explored entrepreneurship by founding an S corporation focused on computer support. I earned a degree in Applied Math with a Software Development emphasis from UW-Stout while working at a .com startup, integrating websites and databases. To pay for college, I combined ColdFusion with MS Access databases, gaining hands-on experience in web development and data management.
I then spent a decade at a legal discovery company, earning two promotions while working with C, C#, and SQL to facilitate legal reviews—developing expertise in file reverse engineering and data processing. From there, I transitioned to a major medical company, where I earned a patent and three promotions for contributions to SQL performance optimization and AWS Cloud development. I also gained deep expertise in communication protocols, including TCP/IP and serial protocols. During this time, I pursued and completed a master’s in Bioinformatics and Computational Biology at the University of Minnesota, where I embraced the value of multidisciplinary collaboration—an approach I continue to follow.
Since COVID, I’ve been part of a prestigious medical institution, embedded in a 70-engineer team spanning multiple STEM disciplines. In this role, I earned a promotion and serve as the primary representative for software engineering while expanding my expertise in electrical engineering.
Beyond my professional experience, I have a passion for teaching and mentorship. I’ve raised three kids and coached youth sports (baseball, basketball, soccer), prioritizing fun and participation over a win-at-all-costs mentality. For fun, I recently earned both my Extra-class Ham Radio license and a Part 107 Drone license.
