I studied political science/government at University of Maryland, College Park (BA) and University of Texas at Austin (MA, PhD), and began teaching alongside award winning professors when I was 20 years old. I am a skilled writer, having written dozens of research papers, a senior thesis, a masters' thesis, a doctoral dissertation, and several published articles. Throughout my education, I have traded peer review services with friends and colleagues, and later spent significant time advising students and grading their papers, so I am adept at helping others structure their arguments, proofread their work effectively, and present a polished paper to their audience. I truly enjoy working with students to improve their writing and argumentation.
I have always structured my classes around small group discussion work, helping students connect to current events when teaching larger concepts. If you are looking for help understanding how the Constitution works, the Arab spring, or the philosophy of Machiavelli, I always aim to explain in ways that are accessible to everyone. The same is true of my tutoring.
My academic specialties within political science are political theory/philosophy and constitutional/public law, but I have also taught numerous courses in US and Texas Politics, as well as comparative politics. I am also available to assist in writing application essays and for general writing assistance.
Please contact me to find out more--I am fairly flexible afternoons and evenings and would love to work with you!
