I have been working with Reem for several weeks now and she has been nothing less than fantastic. I told Reem that I needed to prepare for a proficiency exam in Arabic, and she walked me through the various styles of questions that I will face. My weakest skill is conversation, so we spend much of our session engaging (or at least trying to engage) in Arabic. Reem is very patient and is able to explain any grammatical or linguistic questions that I may have. Reem is a native Arabic speaker, but also speaks English fluently without any problems (this has often been an issue with previous Arabic instructors). I have not encountered a single communication problem with Reem. She always responds to my emails immediately and is punctual for all of our lessons. If she needs to reschedule, she contacts me with plenty of time. I would recommend Reem to anyone looking to improve their Arabic language skills.
We got to know each other while conversing in spoken Arabic. I look forward studying with Reem in the future.
I love how Reem is incredibly patient and helps re-direct when she can see you're struggling. She asks what helps you learn and is able to plan the lesson accordingly. She has helped refresh me on some of the basics and I looked forward to move lessons in the future!
I started taking lessons from her after a five year absence and I was quickly brought up to speed. Unlike many other Arabic instructors she stresses the importance of proper Arabic grammar; something that wasn't drilled into me in my college classes. Reem is extremely patient and encouraging during her lessons and is free to answer any questions outside each lesson. I highly recommend Reem for anyone looking to begin or advance their understanding of Arabic!
Reem has a great command of the Arabic language. She is extremely patient with my 10 year old and makes the learning super fun. She is also meticulous at getting the sound correctly. My daughter has progressed with Reem so quickly and within less than two months, she now read Arabic. Thank you So much Reem.
It is my sincere pleasure to write this letter recommending Ms. Reem as a tutor in Arabic language. I have known Reem for five months, in which she has been a great Arabic language teacher for my seven-year old boy, Yzeed. She was never lethargic or uninterested, but always willingly prepared to take Yzeed from one step to another in Arabic language. Yzeed, who began his classes with Reem unaware of how to write the alphabet, now can write many words and a few sentences, and, much to my surprise, can read level-A short stories in Arabic!
Raising a bilingual child, fluent in Arabic and English (at least), has always been our long term goal. We are originally from Saudi Arabia; Arabic is our first tongue, and I myself have been in the profession of a college-level teaching of Arabic language and literature for almost nine years. Since we came to the U.S. in 2010, Yzeed grew up as a bilingual child; Arabic dialect at home and English at school. At the beginning of this year, my wife, who is a specialist in bilingual education, and I decided to find Yzeed a tutor in Modern Standard Arabic (MSA), the form nowadays used in all formal written materials in the Arabic-speaking world. After much to-ing and fro-ing, we finally reached a decision that Reem was the best candidate to teach our son. After all, she grew up studying in an Arabic-medium schooling system, and she received her advanced degree from the U.S., a combination, we thought, was the best fit to meet the needs of our son. Now after five months, two classes a week, we are more confident that our decision was the right one. Yzeed now is telling me that he wants to make Skype sessions with Reem when we visit Saudi during the summer, which speaks much about the kind of teaching she has been offering to him.
Reem never let us down. She is very knowledgeable in all things Arabic, her teaching method is stimulating, and the learning environment she creates is always inspiring. With her love to our son, he now feels he is part of her family and always loves to go a bit early so that he can play with her kids. And when time is over, he never misses her kind and meaningful prizes: stickers, candies, or stamps that celebrate his achievements and encourage him to do more.
Yzeed will definitely continue with Reem for the coming years because his Arabic now is way better than when he first started his sessions with her, just five months ago. I encourage you to take the opportunity of studying Arabic with Reem, and you will see the difference in no time. I promise you that you will never regret such a decision!
Reem is a very knowledgeable tutor and is a pleasure to work with. I started taking lessons to brush-up on my language before a placement exam and was more than a little rusty. However, with her patient guidance, she helped improve my comprehension and speaking abilities before my exam by tailoring her lessons to focus on my weaker areas. She even accurately predicted my proficiency score! She's also always been very friendly and easy to contact. Overall, she is by far one of the Arabic teachers I've had in my career!
I have studied Arabic for 8 semesters (one of which was abroad) and approached Reem to help me prepare for an upcoming oral proficiency exam. I felt strong in writing and reading, but my speaking was weak, so I reached out to Reem for practice. I reached out to her with less than a week until my exam, and got an immediate response; she was very flexible and we scheduled 6 hours together through 3 days.
The sessions were very helpful. From an oral proficiency standpoint, Reem worked with me on honing my pronunciation. Furthermore, she spent a lot of time preparing questions and continuously peeling back layers in my responses to help me prepare for various topics; for example, it's one thing to say where you work (in Arabic), but it's a different level when you have to describe what you do at your work and your company's history (in Arabic). Although this questioning was intense, it made me think about answers that I developed for my proficiency exam.
Ultimately, Reem is very flexible and helpful with improving your Arabic speaking skills. I highly recommend her services.
I am currently in my second semester of Modern Standard Arabic. When the second semester began, I was way over my head and either needed to quit or get a tutor. Luckily, I chose Reem as a tutor. I am now moving on to the Intermediate class and although it is still very hard, I am learning something new every day. I cant imagine what my level would be had I not contacted Reem and started my lessons. She not only thoroughly teaches the language and easy ways to understand it she tells me about the culture of places where Arabic is spoken so I have a better idea the origin of the language and its cultural roots. The one on one type learning is very effective with her since she takes the time to go into great detail about structure and makes you understand completely the concepts and grammar. I am excited to continue my studies with her.
If you're looking for a patient and effective tutor, choose her!
Reem is a knowledgeable tutor and very good at assessing and adjusting to her student's level. Flexible with her schedule and very responsive. She is pleasant and friendly and easy to work with. Highly recommend working with her!
I worked with Reem over an intensive two week period to prepare for an Arabic placement exam at my M.A. program. I hadn't practiced the language in months and I was more than rusty. Reem took the time at the beginning of our lessons to assess where I was and what my gaps were. She continued to adjust the lessons according to what I was picking up and what I was struggling with. Reem is very familiar with the Al-Kitab series, but does not simply rely on textbooks. She is patient and encouraging. She is also very funny, her teaching style is not boring at all. I felt comfortable enough to make the mistakes that helped her to correct my pronunciation and conjugation. My evaluator praised my conversational skill and couldn't believe that I hadn't been in an Arabic class in months. I owe this all to Reem. If you are in the DC area, there is no better choice. Thanks Reem!
Reem is, as the title to this review says, a wonderful teacher. Patient, knowledgeable, amicable. She has a strong sense of what her student needs to learn quickly. She has great knowledge of the Arabic language and wants to share its beauty with you. Don't think twice. If you are looking for a knowledgeable and friendly tutor, Reem is the one.
Reem knows more about Arabic grammar than anyone I've met. She is patient and detail-oriented. If you are committed to learning, you will learn much from her. She explains things thoroughly, and genuinely cares that you learn the material. A very skilled teacher.
Professor Reem N. has been a tremendous help to me in studying the Arabic language. In each and every class, Reem has shown an inspiring level of dedication in both teaching the material as well as in understanding me as a student in order to maximize my comprehension. It is easily understood that Reem has a background in teaching and translating Arabic at the highest levels, including with the U.S. Department of State. I absolutely recommend Reem to anyone interested in studying Arabic. You will leave from Reem’s classes with not just a greater understanding of the language, but with a greater appreciation of the language’s beautiful poetic form.
Reem is an exceptional Arabic tutor and is truly a master of the language. She is skilled in all dialects and grammar rules and goes beyond what any college classroom could ever teach you. The manner in which she explains grammar and written skills is always straightforward. I have learned more with Reem in two months then some of my friends who have been taking the language for two years.
She is extremely patient and understanding when it comes to learning how to read, write, and pronounce the letters correctly. She creates an amazing environment in which to learn and feel comfortable in even when I make mistakes. She is always very encouraging, but especially when I lose patience with myself.
I highly recommend Reem as an Arabic tutor; she is thorough in her teachings and explanations and helps you grasp the language quickly. She makes learning Arabic fun to the point where you can’t wait until your next lesson!
Reem's skills in teaching Arabic are undeniable. She is not your run of the mill tutor but a real instructor who pays attention to your needs and then creates a strategy to meet them. Great educator!
Before I had my first session with Reem, I felt like I was going to have to give up on Arabic. I had fallen so behind and the concepts just weren't clicking. Reem changed all that for me. She has been able to not only help me catch up in a very short amount of time, but she also has helped me get ahead. She was able to adapt to my learning style and she holds me accountable to make sure I get all of my work done. She makes sure to go over everything, from pronunciation (she's a native speaker) to spelling, to culture and more. Highly recommended!
To cut to the heart of the matter, you want Reem as your Arabic tutor. For several weeks now, I have been fortunate enough to benefit from her many years of experience as a teacher. Lessons with Reem are 100% designed to target the areas you want to improve in the most. For me, our lessons focus heavily on media Arabic. That being said, Reem maintains that achieving success in Arabic requires a comprehensive understanding of grammar - one of the things I like most about lessons with her is that she will find a way to weave grammatical lessons into the media content I am studying to make her point. As a result, there is no "hurry" to race past a grammatical concept, because she shows how understanding the concept lends itself to improved understanding in my area of interest.
Reem is also extremely patient, keeps great notes on the material you have covered, and serves amazing coffee.
I have been studying Arabic for over two years, during which time I lived in the Gulf state of Oman as well as in Beirut, Lebanon. When I found Reem on WyzAnt, I knew that I wanted to study and continue to improve my facility in Fusha (formal Arabic) as well as Amiah (colloquial Arabic), specifically in the Gulf, Egyptian and Levantine dialects with which I was familiar. Reem is an absolute expert in ALL of these fields, and is remarkable at teaching them and alternating between them in an academic context.
She is incredibly patient, eager to encourage my strengths, and very perceptive of my linguistic weaknesses. She is flexible with regards to how class is structured and what we focus on in accordance to my preferences and priorities. In addition, Reem is terrifically patient with her explanations of vocabulary and/or concepts I don't fully understand.
Teaching Amiah and teaching Fusha require very different methods and skill sets, and throughout my experience learning Arabic, I have found that the vast majority of teachers really specialize in one language or the other. In Reem's case, however, her abundant experience and exceptional expertise of the subject matter make her one of the best teachers I have ever had in both the colloquial AND formal dialects of Arabic. I would recommend her extremely highly to any friend or peer interested in rapidly increasing their fluency in the Arabic language.
Reem was one of the best Arabic teachers I've had. She has had a ton of experience teaching Arabic and is very familiar with many of the standardized language tests. I contacted Reem at the last minute to schedule some Arabic refresher courses prior to a language test, and she was extremely flexible in terms of scheduling as well as in tailoring each tutoring session to the skills I needed to work on. She was also very good at identifying areas for improvement. I would absolutely recommend studying with Reem.
I started seeing Reem nearly a month ago, and I must say that I am quite pleased with the progress I have made. If it wasn't for Reem's patience and motivation, I would probably still be attempting to teach myself Arabic and not getting very far. Her methods of teaching certain material are simple and straight to the point. Reem is never confusing and will always make sure the material is clear to you before moving on. I adore Reem, not only because I strongly believe she is an amazing teacher but she has a lovely, warm spirit about her. Her lessons are exciting to come to because I am always guaranteed to leave each lesson with some gained knowledge. By attending each lesson with Reem, I envision myself going very far in my studies of Arabic. I recommend Reem a thousand times over!
Reem has been tutoring me for about two months. We started from the very beginning with reading and writing the alphabet. Her tips and techniques are by far the best I've experienced with any teacher or book. She is very professional, courteous, and provides useful feedback. She is also patient and encouraging, which is important when you're trying to learn a difficult language such as Arabic. One note about her writing -- it is absolutely beautiful and you will see her calligraphy skills come through in each letter. I was surprised how quickly I learned to write the same way (not as nicely, of course). She has excellent habits and if you pay attention with an open mind and work hard you will learn a lot.
I have decided to pursue Arabic in the classroom and will keep seeing Reem to supplement my coursework. Her knowledge and skills are far too valuable and worth every penny.
I am a doctoral student working to improve my Arabic reading skills in order to access a variety of Arabic primary source materials from the early modern period. During my time working with Reem I have found her to be a patient and valuable tutor. She began by assessing my needs, evaluating my language skills, and examining some of my source materials. Since that time we have been proceeding at a pace that I believe ensures adequate progress without being overwhelming. In our sessions it is clear that Reem recognizes how communicating in a foreign language can make someone feel self-conscious, and thus always does her best to put the student at ease and work through any difficulties they may experience. Additionally, she has been flexible in the scheduling of sessions and offers a variety of session formats (e.g. in-person, Skype). As a result of working with Reem I am confident of developing satisfactory Arabic language skills, and thus I highly recommend her as a tutor.
Excellent Arabic tutor. Wonderful with kids. She was able to keep my 3 kids interested and was able to manage each child's level. The kids were extremely comfortable with her and were interested in seeing her for their lesson.
Rest assured if you are searching for an Arabic tutor, Reem is your best choice. After taking two years of Arabic in high school, I only the knew the basics and was taught with the Egyptian dialect. Once in college I felt as if I was starting all over again with vocabulary, sentence structure, and verbally communicating. I needed a tutor that was going to allow me to ask questions and not be frustrated with me, a tutor that knew the language inside and out, and more importantly, I needed a tutor who was going to be patient. Reem is all of those and more! Reem is concise and enunciates clearly. She can explain the Arabic language inside and out and in simple terms. Unfortunately, for me, I must travel into DC which is about a 45 minute drive from my home. However, what I have learned from Reem is very valuable and I will continue tutoring sessions as needed.
I met with Reem a few times in early 2014 to prepare for an advanced level Arabic speaking test. She was extremely helpful, patient, and kind. She is fully fluent in both Arabic and English, so she was able to explain some fairly difficult concepts to me in both languages.
We met at her house, which was warm and welcoming. I can't recommend Reem enough - she helped me pass my test!
Reem is a fantastic and extremely patient tutor. She is very knowledgeable on all the grammar concepts needed for college level Arabic. I currently am taking Arabic 3001 at my university, and Reem is able to give me skilled help on any questions I have relating to my class. Similarly, she has been infinitely helpful at covering older grammar rules, which were overlooked in a typical classroom setting. She is very reasonable when it comes to homework/study load for each session. My university classes often make it difficult to complete all of her assignments, but she understands the conflicts and works to maximize my learning potential regardless. Reem was also able to provide insight into many study abroad areas and programs, which she believes would best benefit the development of my Arabic language proficiency. She cares completely about the knowledge of her students. Teaching is her passion, not simply a profession. During one particular lesson, she searched for and found an Arabic cookbook to show me pictures and recipes of Arabic foods, which I had never been able to visualize previously. The lesson could have proceeded without me seeing what the food looked like, but she actually cared that I had knowledge about Arabic beyond simple grammatical concepts. Overall, after being taught by several different college professors, Reem, in my opinion, is one of the best Arabic instructors I have had.
Reem is the best Arabic teacher I have had in DC. She is patient, has great teaching skills, and a sense of humor. Also, she will tell you quite a bit about Arabic culture and way of life. It goes without saying but you also have to work at home if you want to improve your Arabic. I highly recommend Reem.
Reem is a gifted teacher who makes the study of Arabic fascinating and effective. My son learned so much from Reem in a short period of time and he was thrilled to feel he was making noticeable progress each week. She is supportive, warm, kind, and challenging. I cannot say enough good things about Reem and just wish we had met her sooner.
She is head and shoulders above other teachers my son has had. You will learn quickly and have fun doing so. My husband is going to start studying with her since our son had such a great experience. Reem is a serious teacher who teaches diplomats, kids, business people, you name it. She has many students who continue with her by Skype after they move. That says it all.
Reem always makes me feel like I am capable of mastering the language of Arabic. At times in the past I've become despondent when studying the language and have felt incapable. Reem continuously assures me that I've been improving slowly but surely. We covered some grammar and reviewed the 10 verb forms. We also held a conversation in Arabic for half an hour. I'm hoping to continue lessons with Reem in order to improve my grammar.
I've met with Reem a number of times to supplement my university Arabic classes. We spend the time talking in Arabic about our families, current events, or whatever is on our minds. The atmosphere is very relaxed and comfortable, which helps when one is trying desperately to search for the correct nouns and verbs. I do not feel any pressure to communicate beyond my ability when I am with Reem. She is patient, flexible and kind. I would highly recommend her if you are seeking an Arabic tutor, regardless of your level.
Reem has been a great teacher and is very meticulous in providing a firm foundation in the language. She works at a very tailored pace and provides great instruction. She teaches the language very intuitively, similar to how one might learn to play an instrument by emphasizing proper articulation and pronunciation. She also spends a great deal of effort in answering questions and ensuring the lesson has been understood. You immediately can tell she is a very experienced in teaching the language.
Reem is a very good tutor. She is clearly very knowledgeable about the grammar and style of Modern Standard Arabic. She has worked with me help me refresh my Arabic language skills acquired many years back and ensure that I am using the Modern Standard expressions rather than dialect/colloquial Arabic. Plus, she is very pleasant to work with and highly responsive to emails on scheduling!
Anyone who takes Arabic classes post-graduation will inevitably discover that the market has become saturated with legions of Arabic language tutors, hailing from a variety of different backgrounds and possessing varying levels of proficiency, teaching experience, and regional knowledge. More often than not, though, these tutors and teachers one or two areas, but fail miserably in others. What good is a teacher who, although a native speaker, possesses an incomplete knowledge of English and consequently cannot effectively communicate the nuances and novels concepts that bedevil more advanced learners of Arabic? How about a non-native speaker who, however reasonably proficient he or she may be, lacks an awareness of the sociocultural and historical factors that influence language any better? Or the rare generally qualified tutor whose lesson prices prove to be prohibitively expensive for recent graduates and others living on a modest income? Not much.
In light of the above, Reem is the single best Arabic tutor that you could hope to find at any price. Reem's wide array of professional credentials, extensive educational background, and years upon years of experience translating and teaching Arabic make her indispensable for any learner of Arabic. Do you need to learn a dialect? Reem can teach you. Do you want to familiarize yourself with the jargon of a specific field to advance professionally? Reem can teach you. Would you like to practice for any of the myriad of language tests administered by consulting firms and federal agencies? Reem can prepare you for that too. Just provide Reem with the "What" and the "Why" and she'll deliver the "How" in spades.
Even beyond her nonpareil professional qualifications, Reem is an absolutely lovely person whose kindness, patience, and willingness to got the extra-mile to provide you with a personalized curriculum facilitate the learning process even more so.
So, seriously: if you want an incredibly experienced, kind, gifted Arabic tutor who offers individualized lessons for half the price of the competition despite being at least twice as effective, then what are you waiting for?
My first session with Reem, I was completely blown away by the level of raw energy and passion she has. The ear she's developed for Arabic, the microscopic level of awareness to detail of each specific letter, the high standard she has for you as her student and the level of guidance she provides to correct you with each mistake you make will make you fall in love with the her and the language from the very first day. Reem goes far beyond what I ever imagined was even possible with a tutor. She truly is a rare find and if you're like me, a complete beginner in Arabic and just now beginning, I would strongly recommend her to you. Extremely patient and even more knowledgeable, I'm glad I found her early on in my search.
I've been using Reem as my tutor for about a year and half. I had no previous knowledge or base in the Arabic language. I can now read and listen to the language and have full understanding of what is going on! Reem is very patient and caring, not only concerning a students' lack of knowledge and education of Arabic, but also extremely flexible with her schedule (major plus for working in the D.C. area). I wouldn't be where I am today without her assistance!
Reem is a wonderful and very attentive tutor. We've done a lot of good work together and I look forward to continuing in the new year!
Reem is truly more than you can ask for in an Arabic tutor. Aside from being an extremely knowledgeable and accomplished tutor, she is flexible and willing to build tutoring sessions around the individual needs of her students, and ensures that they get the most from each session. Reem brings a familiarity with and understanding of the language that you would be hard-pressed to find in the classroom. Even after taking Arabic for three years and then taking a break, in my return to the language I've learned things that I had not learned previously and greatly improved on skills that were previously lacking. There is no better Arabic tutor in the DC area than Reem.
Reem is by far the best tutor I've ever had. As a native Arabic speaker she clearly has extensive experience with Arabic speakers of all levels, from absolute beginner (no prior knowledge) through to complete proficiency. Her lessons are structured, well managed, and challenging - you will be amazed with your comprehension level almost immediately.
She is extremely responsive via email, very accommodating to busy schedules (especially convenient for those working full-time), very patient with beginners, and can even do lessons over Skype. I cannot recommend Reem highly enough - thank you!
My time with Reem has been absolutely invaluable when attempting to refresh my Arabic skills. We started off doing grammar review and then jumped right in to some upper level reading and speaking subjects. If ever there is something I'm uncomfortable with or I feel like I need to focus on, Reem is incredibly receptive. She truly wants to help the student improve in any way she can and makes the student's need her focus for each lesson. Her sincerity and hard work are greatly appreciated and I cannot imagine choosing a better tutor. Thank you so much Reem!
Reem is gifted. She has the natural ability to teach and inspire young children. Not only does she succeed in teaching one of the most difficult languages, Arabic, but she inspires a love and commitment to the language. My daughter has a wonderful time with Reem, we do not have a fight nor do I need to bargain and beg her to go, anyone who has spent time learning Arabic knows it can be onerous, complicated and boring, so this is the highest praise. Reem is warm, funny and welcoming. She creates a classroom, whether in her house or virtually, which is cozy and casual yet is demanding and ambitious in terms of learning the language. My daughter has made significant strides in her vocabulary and grammar and with Reem's support and guidance has developed a solid foundation in the language. I can confidently recommend Reem as a wonderful teacher of Arabic.
I have been working with Reem for about two months now. I meet with her twice a week for an hour on my lunch break. I am an American with a Palestinian fiance and am looking to improve ONLY my colloquial Arabic. This is a unique situation, because most individuals looking to study Arabic are looking for tutors who can help them with Modern Standard. Since there aren't really textbooks for Palestinian Colloquial Arabic (Amiya), Reem creates lists of words for us to go over each class. Additionally, she is adamant about speaking only Arabic to me and pushes me to not default to using English when I feel like I can't express myself. On a practical note, Reem is always on time for our lessons and is very communicative by email. I know she is highly recommended for students who are looking to improve their formal Arabic, but if you are looking for someone who can help you with colloquial Levantine (Lebanese, Syrian, Palestinian, Jordanian) Arabic, she is the tutor for you.
I can definitely see my Arabic improving and I can't wait to show off my skills to my in-law for our wedding in December!
After studying Arabic several years ago, I sought out tutoring with Reem to brush back up on the language. Reem is an excellent tutor! In addition to helping my Arabic improve, she has also clarified concepts of the language that always confused me in the past, including topics that my previous teachers/professors never took the time to properly explain. As such, I feel like my understanding has substantially increased. Reem is patient, very knowledgeable, and I would recommend her to anyone seeking to learn Modern Standard Arabic!
Reem does a good job of explaining concepts in a clear manner while pushing me to improve my skills. Also, she is very flexible with working with my schedule!
Reem is a very patient, thorough instructor; always greeting me with a smile, she makes very efficient use of the time during our lessons. I meet with her using Skype, which tends to work out well. At my request, we’ve really focused on grammar, and she has really impressed me with her ability to explain structures that have been difficult for me to understand in the past. Reem is very responsive on email, which is much appreciated!! She also brings amazing context to the language by introducing cultural nuances and colloquial phrases. I would highly recommend her to any individual that is interested in studying Arabic and I look forward to many more scheduled lessons under her instruction. Thank you Reem!
I highly recommend Reem as a tutor for language learners of any level. In my case, she was very helpful in helping review grammar and foundational Arabic prior to my trip to Oman. She was able to communicate complex grammatical concepts in a very accessible way. She was always pleasant, flexible in meeting times, and helpful in instruction.
After 4 years of being lazy and discontinuing my Arabic studies, Reem has brought me back to life and has inspired my interest to complete my Arabic studies. Being an intermediate student in Arabic, not quite elementary and not quite intermediate, Reem has tailored a curriculum to meet my level of studies perfectly! She is patient, thorough, and is always available. Her flexibility in tutoring styles has made my tutoring experience hassle-free. She provides substantial assignments to complete at my own pace, but to also keep the subject matter fresh in between sessions. Reem is a world of knowledge in Arabic and takes the time to explain not only the way things are but also, why things are the way they are so that I understand the language in its entirety. I am so confident that Reem possesses everything that I need to become the fluent student I am striving to be. I highly recommend Reem to anyone who is looking for a tutor.
With a language as daunting and intimidating as Arabic, I sought tutoring services as oppose to trying any number of the self study methods out there. I could not have made a better decision! Reem is extremely knowledgeable, positive, and encouraging. She teaches you the real way to learn the language; starting with the alphabet and progressing into words, reading, writing, and speaking. I even started with her before moving to the Middle East and we continue to do our lessons over Skype. She is flexible and very accommodating. After one month of lessons, I already had native speakers complimenting me on my pronunciation of letters and words. I could not have gotten luckier in finding Reem and WyzAnt tutoring services through a simple google search. Book a lesson. You will be happy you did!
I have been taking lessons from Reem for the past year. She has helped me attain a strong foundation in Arabic. Her lessons are clear and thorough. She is patient, explains concepts exceptionally well and does not leave gaps or unanswered questions. She is very reliable and understanding. It has been a pleasure working with Reem and I highly recommend her for Arabic students of all levels.
I have been working with Reem now for the past month and she has really been a terrific tutor! Arabic has always been a struggle for me to learn and uncomfortable because I do come from an Arabic background. Reem though was able to understand my needs and modify the assignments to better fit my learning level. I feel very comfortable now learning with Reem and what I love most is that she makes sure you understand everything before continuing on. I've had Arabic tutors in the past and have found Reem to be the best as she is understanding, patient, nice, and teaches with great clarity.
I have been tutoring with Reem for several months now and could not be happier. She is patient, extremely intelligent, and easy to talk to. She understands the details and history of linguistics, so it's hard to find a question she cannot answer. I also work full time so there are instances where I need to change our schedule or I can't complete my homework, but she is always understanding, courteous and makes the lesson fit my needs. This is why I have a tutor rather than joining a course (I missed half the class when I tried) so it makes the tutoring cost well worth it. Because Reem is a native speaker and also has in depth knowledge of language, she is extremely well suited for advanced students, but her demeanor and teaching experience also makes her ideal for beginners (like me.) Highly recommend for students at any level.
Since I have started Arabic with Reem, my overall Arabic skills have tremendously improve. She is extremely patient, detail oriented and attentive. She always make sure I fully understand every new concept before moving to a new one. Additionally, she provides detailed answers to my many questions, and always try to simplify hard concepts in order to make sure I secure the skills. She also gives details on cultural aspects linked to the language. I love going to my Arabic lesson!! I recommend Reem to anyone who wants to learn or improve their Arabic! I have taken Arabic before with other instructors but none of them compare to Reem!!
We had an unusually bad connection on Skype probably due to the anticipated snow or weather warning. But the class was excellent and Reem had a longer session to make up for the interruptions.
Reem is an excellent tutor. She also is very flexible and willing to use my son's teacher's guidance, lessons, suggestions to ensure that the time is well spent with the goal of passing the IB Arabic examination.
Reem is an absolutely wonderful tutor. She answers all questions completely and explains things in a simple and easy to understand way that makes her fast pace barely noticeable. She is very very practical but enthusiastic and encouraging while also being realistic about the student's individual skill level. I am very happy with my first lesson and definitely recommend lessons with her to anyone and everyone! She is a wonderful resource for learning Arabic.
I've been working with Reem weekly for about 3 months now via Skype. Her schedule is very accommodating to your individual needs. She is very easy to talk to and is very patient when I need additional instruction or forget something and need refreshing. I am an intermediate student, can read/write/speak MSA and needed to keep up my conversation ability for an upcoming overseas tour. I feel that our 1.5 hour/week session is very useful for keeping vocabulary fresh. After a few structured sessions, Reem recognized that an unstructured format was best for my particular needs, and now we chat via skype and discuss everyday topics, news, family, money, whatever comes up - which I feel is the best way to cover a variety of topics and learn new words that are frequently used in the Middle East.
Reem is also a Saudi Arabia and Levant expert, and can teach different dialects according to your needs. She also is a good resource for cultural nuances that are crucial to know before traveling/living/working in the Middle East.
Bottom line: Whether you are a beginner or an advanced student, Reem can help you hone your Arabic skills and tailors her instruction to your exact need. In my opinion, your money and time will be well spent by hiring Reem.
Reem is a very helpful, knowledgeable, and patient teacher. In addition to her expertise with the language, she often relates relevant anecdotes about growing up in Syria and other points of Arab culture. Highly recommended.
I appreciate the building block approach Reem uses and the extra culture background on language.
She provides honest feedback and is willing to answer any additional questions I might have not during our scheduled session. Reem has been very flexible in scheduling sessions. She has been great in gauging the pace and when to advance me to the next level. Reem is an excellent teacher who is willing to go above and beyond her scheduled sessions.
I find Reem to be a masterful tutor who can connect well with a student of any level. Unlike some other tutors and professors I've had, Reem knows the English language very well and knows how to translate Arabic concepts into English that is easy to comprehend. Her expertise as an instructor of Arabic rivals any college professor that I've had. She is also very nice and very patient.
Reem is an incredibly thorough and positive tutor. Not only is she knowledgeable and clear in her lessons, but she is also supportive and dependable. She makes a point to schedule times convenient for her students and promptly returns emails. It is evident that she greatly values her students' success and her personal dedication to reaching each student's goals makes every lesson productive and enjoyable.
In most cases, tutors gain approval in a subject by passing a proficiency exam. For some subject areas, like music and art, tutors submit written requests to demonstrate their proficiency to potential students. If a tutor is interested but not yet approved in a subject, the subject will appear in non-bold font. Tutors need to be approved in a subject prior to beginning lessons.
I am an Arabic Language tutor. I have been teaching the Arabic Lanaguage to so many students for more than 10 years already. All of my students seek my help in learning the Arabic Language and in preparing for Arabic Language tests that are taught in colleges and universities. Also, many of my students seek my help with very challenging tests that are required by the State Department so that they can be employed oversees in Arabic Speaking countries. All my students value my teaching skills and recommend me highly to other students they know.
