Elementary (K-6th)

For six months, from June 2013 through December 2013, I worked as a clinician/tutor for Lindamood-Bell Learning Processes, where I helped struggling elementary-aged DC Public School students with reading, comprehension, and verbalization. I conducted small-group instruction in high-need schools in Northeast and Southeast DC. From January 2014 to June 2014, I served as a substitute teacher/teaching assistant at a public charter school in Southeast DC, working with pre-K through sixth grade.

Phonics

For six months, from June through December of 2013, I worked as a clinician/tutor for Lindamood-Bell Learning processes, a company that aims to help struggling children and adults with reading, comprehension, and verbalization. A major part of their Seeing Stars program is building phonological awareness. We ensured that children mastered the sounds of letters and blends, and that they learned important rules, such as final "E", "C" and "G" train, and "two vowels go walking."

Writing
