I have a bachelor's of science in Chemical Engineering and a master's of science in Computer Science. I have tutored Mathematics, Chemistry, Physics and Information Technology at Prince George's Community College for eight years. I have had a love for mathematics since elementary school and was able to obtain full credit in AP Calculus AB and BC. My highest mathematics course in college was Differential Equations.

In my spare time I play chess and the trumpet.

In my spare time I play chess and the trumpet.

To me mathematics is like a game. I like to encourage students especially if they feel that mathematics is too hard or is not fun. I try to figure out how to make mathematics fun and interesting to them and to show them mathematics visually.

I believe the best plan is to prepare the student to excel in the class that they are in. So I will instruct he student using the problems they have already been given and make sure they understand. Because what they understand and have seen visually is what they will be able to remember and apply in the future.

I have a master's degree in Computer Science and I Bachelor's Degree in Chemical Engineering. College level Mathematics was essential in obtaining my degrees. I took Mathematics all the way to Differential Equations.

I taught myself chess when I was very young, about the time when Bobby Fisher was in the news. When he found out I was interested, a friend of my fathers came by to help me along. Today, I play chess in my spare time. For online chess play similar to chess by mail, my highest online rating is 1602, best win against a 2027 rated opponent and a total of 1162 games completed. For live chess play, my highest blitz rating, 3-10 minute games, is 1467, best win against a 1533 rated opponent, and a total of 10699 games completed. My highest bullet rating, 1 minute games, is 1200, best win was against a 1270 opponent and 3061 games completed. These games were played with people from around the world. My favorite openings are King's Gambit, Bird's Opening and Blackmar Diemer Attack (Gambit). I also know many chess variants : Chinese Chess Japanese Chess Extinction Chess Night Mate Chess Anti Chess Three Check Chess Grass Hopper Chess

My father was a music teacher and gave private lessons in our home. I learned the trumpet before learning it in the public schools. I was in my fathers band during the summer camps he taught and his jazz band the Basil Tones. I was in both band and orchestra during all four years of high school. I was in All State Band. I was in the Montgomery Village community band for a couple of years. Although trumpet was my first instrument a have also played other instruments such as trombone, saxophone, french horn and piano.
