Hello- I’m Ranjana! I graduated summa cum laude from my university’s honors college with a Bachelor’s Degree in Biochemistry & Molecular Biology. I started tutoring professionally in college 9 years ago and have a strong passion for teaching and mentorship. After completing my bachelor’s degree, I went straight through to medical school, where I continued to tutor through various school programs while expanding access to STEM education amongst traditionally marginalized communities. As I continue to tutor, I am now pursuing residency training to become a medical oncologist.

Through my prior teaching experiences, I am a certified College Reading & Learning Association Master Tutor. I have spent ~5 years tutoring college students in SAT/ACT, various AP courses, and university-level courses (Biochemistry, Medical Ethics, Chemistry, and English language/literature). I also enjoy writing and have personally published multiple articles and co-authored a non-fiction novel on STEM education. I have proofread and provided detailed feedback to over 250 applications/personal statements for college, medical school, and residency. I am also available for USMLE tutoring and have scored >85th percentile on the USMLE STEP 1/2/3 licensing exams.

Extremely knowledgable and dedicated

Ranjana is hands down the best tutor I have ever had. After only 1 session, I developed some really good test taking strategies and had a stronger understanding of several concepts. My practice test score the day after our first session jumped 12 points. She is very knowledgeable and helped me break down questions/answer choices in a very thorough and complete way. She is also extremely patient and engaging. She made sure I understood the concepts and even went out of her way to offer me a lot of great advice on applying to medical school and how to succeed as a pre-med student.

Best College Counselor Ever.

Ranjana is a truly outstanding tutor and college advisor! I only wish we had known about her and worked with her for my older daughters. We actually heard of her through word of mouth from a family friend back when she only tutored in person before joining Wyzant, and we were so glad we could connect with her. She helped my son tremendously with his college search and college application and essays. She is an EXTREMELY gifted writer and helped our son with everything from the Common App personal statement to his supplemental essays for everything the Ivies to the safety schools. She provided detailed guidance with brainstorming ideas, writing, proofreading, and polishing. She really has a deep understanding of the undergraduate and graduate admissions process and my son really enjoyed working with her. We couldn’t have gotten through all of the applications without her! It was truly a blessing to find her when we did, and I wish that we had found her sooner.
