After 4 years working in a conventional high school I have decided to try teaching in a smaller environment. I love education, and I believe reading and writing are the most important building blocks for an education. I also believe that every child is different, and every student will struggle from time to time. Through my graduate studies with Johns Hopkins University, I have learned about how to properly differentiate for each student while keeping a truly positive attitude even in difficult learning situations. I can test children for reading difficulties and then tailor their instruction around their abilities. I can also tutor gifted students on Shakespeare and the classics because I have experience working with the Honors tracked classes in high school. I enjoy working with people and would be happy to help any student reach his or her full potential.
