About Susan

Hello,

My name is Susan. I have been tutoring for over ten years in both educational and business environments. I am a College Reading and Learning Association (CRLA)-certified tutor and presently working as a professional English tutor at a college assisting students with English, writing, and ESL. In addition, I teach English as a Second Language (ESL) to adult students at a volunteer organization and at community colleges. I previously tutored students at the elementary, middle school, and high school levels in both public and private schools. These students included English Language Learners (ELL) as well as students whose first language is English.

I enjoy the challenges and rewards of teaching English to all age levels and am looking forward to the opportunity of working with future students.

Approved subjects are in bold.

Approved subjects

In most cases, tutors gain approval in a subject by passing a proficiency exam. For some subject areas, like music and art, tutors submit written requests to demonstrate their proficiency to potential students. If a tutor is interested but not yet approved in a subject, the subject will appear in non-bold font. Tutors need to be approved in a subject prior to beginning lessons.
