I am an elementary school teacher with over twenty years classroom experience. I received my degree in Early Childhood Education (K-3) from Lesley. Each year I stress the importance of being respectful and responsible learners. This philosophy has made my students want to achieve their full potential as learners and citizens of the world.
In our classroom we devote most of our day implementing Common Core standards in conventional ways. I implement the curriculum so that all students are successful. As a seasoned educator, I still find new ways to help students find success with the use of models and hands-on manipulative. After many years of working with children, I still continue to enjoy the profession.

I have always stressed the importance of reading! Successful reading requires a combination of semantics, syntax and phonetics. These three elements, as well as concepts of comprehension are always incorporated into my teaching.

I have implemented several Phonics programs. building on a students current skills helps the student be successful.

Knowing students strengths first helps me learn what direction the student needs to follow. I have also implemented several spelling programs in my many years of experience.

I provide learners with a safe and challenging learning environment.
