Bio

I graduated from the University of the Incarnate Word with a Bachelor's degree in Biochemistry with a pre-med concentration. While undergoing my undergraduate studies, I became a tutor through my university in general chemistry. Through the years, I found that I enjoyed helping students uncover the joys of the natural sciences, and I soon expanded my subjects to genetics, biochemistry, physics, microbiology, calculus, algebra, and other various math and science courses.

I graduated from the University of the Incarnate Word with a Bachelor's degree in Biochemistry with a pre-med concentration. While undergoing my undergraduate studies, I became a tutor through my university in general chemistry. Through the years, I found that I enjoyed helping students uncover the joys of the natural sciences, and I soon expanded my subjects to genetics, biochemistry, physics, microbiology, calculus, algebra, and other various math and science courses.

Upon graduation, I did not want to end my tutoring once I left the university. So I underwent my own small tutoring business to incorporate university students and high school students. Since then, I have been tutoring all age groups and educational levels and have empowered many to do well in their studies. One of my tutoring philosophies is that "one never stops learning," and I not only encompass this in my tutoring sessions but also in my education as I obtained a Master's degree in Microbiology with a concentration in Medical Microbiology and biochemistry from the University of Florida; and currently a medical school student. In all, education is vital, and knowledge works wonders.

I take complex topics that students struggle in, and I break them down in a format in which the student can understand; I usually accomplish this through common day terms and objects. Thus, not only do I help students know the topics, but I show how that topic is essential through real-world applications.
I work with all students to tailor my sessions to their individual needs and what they are more accustomed to. I hear all students' comments and concerns and help set goals to reach a positive, successful outcome within my sessions.

I have obtained a Masters degree in Microbiology with a concentration in medical microbiology and biochemistry along with a BS degree in Biochemistry. I have tutored high school biology, microbiology, Pre-AP biology and AP biology for 4+ years; I have also tutored college students in various biological sciences for 4+ years. On the high school level I have obtained a 5 on the college board AP biology exam.

I have tutored both AP high school students to graduate level students in the area of genetics ranging from general genetics to human genetics, molecular biology, cell biology and the like! Not only have I tutored this subject for six years I also contain five years of professional working experience working in a molecular genetics laboratory in DNA and mRNA analysis in which I can help students connect the dots and see real world applications and answer the question "why?" for the importance of concepts learned.
