Elementary (K-6th)

I am a certified elementary teacher with a Master's in Teaching (K-9th) and additional coursework in reading instruction, as well as a background in science and the arts. I currently am working as a Teacher in the Library at a branch of the Chicago Public Library (through a program that places certified teachers in libraries), tutoring students after school. This program does not continue through the summer, so I will have more flexibility in scheduling my independent tutoring. I absolutely love tutoring and believe in a fun and focused approach. If the child is enjoying the learning experience, we will be able to build his/her skills and knowledge much more effectively.

Study Skills

As a "Teacher in the Library" for a branch of the Chicago Public Library, I am consistently working with students on their homework and study skills. I also spent several years in the regular classroom teaching all subjects, and provided my students with a great amount of guidance for their approach to studying. Much of this was tailored to fit particular students' needs.
