Hey, I'm Will! I graduated from Northwestern University with a Bachelor's and a Master's degree in Computer Engineering and a minor in Psychology. I have been tutoring for 10+ years, helping students across a broad range of subjects. I take a hands-on approach to learning, emphasizing practical application of topics rather than just rote memorization, as I feel it makes learning more engaging. I make sure students understand what is going on step-by-step, explaining the how and the why behind solving problems. During tutoring sessions, I will follow along with a student’s existing curriculum, guiding them through homework and practice problems and ensuring that they fully understand the material. If requested, I can also provide additional material and practice problems, going further to give students a solid foundation for future lessons.

My professional experience includes product development for multiple startups and engineering consulting. I was a TA for computer engineering courses of 20+ students at Northwestern and tutored throughout high school. I have worked with students of all ages learning STEM subjects, including all levels of math, physics, computer science, and more. During my three-year tenure as a TA, I oversaw students as they worked on labs, guiding them through structured work and helping them design and build their final projects.

AI has had a major impact on how we all live and work, and that extends to students. AI can be detrimental to learning when used incorrectly. However, when used effectively, I believe that AI can be a powerful tool for students, and that learning how to use it without relying on it is extremely beneficial. I am happy to foster a learning environment without AI, as well as to teach students how to use AI in a productive way.

Please reach out to me if you have any questions. I am generally quick to respond and will get back to you as soon as possible. If you would like to schedule a lesson online or in person I will be happy to discuss additional details!

AMC (Competition math)

AMC (Competition math)

I was the captain of my grade for the York Community High School ICTM math team from 2017 to 2019. I participated in individuals, relays, 8 person, and oral competitions for ICTM. I achieved multiple first-place individual results, as well as contributing to team success at regionals and state. I also participated in AMC competitions in school, though I have lost the records of my scores.
Computer Engineering

Computer Engineering

I have a Bachelor's and Master's in Computer Engineering from Northwestern, specializing in Embedded Hardware/Software, Robotics, and FPGA/ASIC Development. I have been a TA for microprocessor systems classes, focusing on Arduino, Micro:Bit, ESP32, and other similar platforms. I have experience helping with C/C++, Python, Assembly, Verilog, VHDL, and more.
Robotics

Robotics

In college, I was the co-president of the Northwestern University Robotics Club. I led team meetings and oversaw Combat Robotics, VR, Drone Team, UROV, Lacrosse Goalie, MicroMouse, and other subteams. I helped run the robotics club's workshop, which was geared to teaching new students about building a line following robot from scratch, as well as being the lead for the drone team. I also attended NHRL combat robotics competitions, bringing 30lb combat robots and qualifying for world championships multiple times.
