I've worked as an undergraduate Genetics TA for 3 years in college while also volunteering as a mentor for underprivileged middle school students in the Austin area. My experiences as a TA encouraged me to pursue other opportunities to help tutor those about subjects I'm passionate in.
I'm a passionate student of history, writing, and science, and for this reason, I would love to help students who are struggling with these subjects reach their full potential. I know first-hand that these topics can be challenging and tedious, and I want to help us find ways to master the subject in an approachable and digestible manner. Whether it be MCAT or writing, I want to be there by your side as we learn together.
Through my experiences, I've learned that the best way to teach new topics is to approach them collaboratively. I prefer to work alongside my students as we break down difficult topics into smaller steps. As a TA, I recognized that it is easier to tackle difficult topics first by breaking them down into their respective sub-topics. Then, we can tackle each smaller topic independently and weave them together to understand the bigger picture.
