My education includes a B.A. in English and two Masters Degrees in both Elementary Education K-6 and Special Education N-9 from Boston College. I have extensive experience teaching Language Arts. I taught a reading program for Title One, tutored migrant worker's children in both reading and writing, and taught Remedial Reading and Writing at Eastern Florida State College for the last nine years. In addition, I have taught the second, third, fifth, and sixth grades. My background also includes teaching Special Education students with various learning needs.

I have also tutored many students throughout my career. I am very enthusiastic about teaching and learning. My qualities include patience, kindness, and empathy. I have come to realize over the years that students learn from many different teaching styles. I know that no two students learn the same way. Throughout my career, I have been able to effectively teach students who are visual, auditory, and tactile methods. In conclusion, I love teaching and working with students. My educational background is as follows: B.A. English at the College of New Rochelle in May 1982. My graduate work consists of a M.Ed. in Elementary Education K through 6 in 1988 from Boston College. I also earned C.A.G.S. (Masters + 30 credits) Special Education K-12 in May 1993 from Boston College. I have been an Adjunct Professor at Eastern Florida State College in Cocoa, Florida since May 2005 teaching Developmental Reading and Writing Courses.

I have taught 3rd grade handwriting (Palmer Method). I have a Masters in K-6 and a specialist degree in Special Ed. N-9. I have taught many students handwriting including my own daughter who has been diagnosed with ADHD.

I have taught Phonics as a separate subject in grades two and three. I have also incorporated the use of phonics into the Reading Program of Second and Third graders. I have a Masters in both Elementary and Special Education from Boston College. I have extensive experience in teaching in the classroom, working with students in small groups, and individually.

I have earned a Masters Degree in Special Education grades N-9 from Boston College. In addition, I have taught Remedial Reading and Writing at Eastern Florida State College for the last nine years. I have worked with students with learning disabilities, mental retardation, Downs Syndrome, and Autism.
Study Skills

I strongly feel that I am qualified to teach Study Skills. I was an undergraduate English major. I hold a Master's degree in Elementary Education (K-6 grade)from Boston College and I hold a Specialist degree in Exceptional Education (K through ninth grade) from Boston College. In addition, I have taught Third and Sixth grade and many Reading programs. I have also taught Prep Reading and Prep Writing at Eastern Florida State College for nine years (until I was laid off in 2014). I independently tutor Study Skills, and I also tutor for the SAT and the ACT and elementary students. Because of my qualifications, I feel that I would be an asset as a Study Skills tutor.

Very patient, kind and knowledgeable

Patricia could get my grandson to actually get his work complete in the hour session. She is very good with children, and knows her stuff. She is teaching grammar, writing, reading comprehension to him. So far I have had two lessons and am very satisfied and will have more soon.
