I spent over five years teaching in the Military, so I am no stranger to high stress environments, adult learners, and having a high level of patience for individuals that have a harder time with certain topics. I understand that each student learns in a different manner, so I am eager to understand which methods will work the best for everyone. I spent over five years teaching in the Military, so I am no stranger to high stress environments, adult learners, and having a high level of patience for individuals that have a harder time with certain topics. I understand that each student learns in a different manner, so I am eager to understand which methods will work the best for everyone. Being a visual learner, I understand things more when I can see, touch, draw, or perform what I am learning; yet I understand that my teaching must include all methods of teaching in order to find the right one.

I believe that when an individual gets to the point where they can explain/teach a topic to another person, it not only shows the teacher/tutor what level of understanding they're at, but also allows the student to reinforce their understanding of the subject. Students should feel free to ask questions, and provide feedback in order to improve my ability to help them succeed.

I have written over 120 papers for college coursework using APA formatting and have proof-read just as many for other students. I am a graduate of the Master of Education in Psychological Counseling program at Teachers College of Columbia University, have prepared for and taken the GRE, been invited for multiple graduate level interviews, recently completed the Doctor of Psychology in Clinical Psychology program at the University of Denver, and wrote a doctoral paper that is a treatment protocol related to grief and loss experienced by incarcerated men. I currently work as a correctional psychologist with male inmates.

If you would like additional information, or simply have questions on my experience or methods, please do not hesitate to ask.

College Counseling

I have two Master's degrees from Columbia University in Psychological Counseling. I have experience moving through the college application and interviewing process. I have been invited to interview for one Master's level program, and have interviewed for five doctoral level programs - successfully being admitted into three of them. With my combined knowledge related to career counseling and experience with academic interviews, I believe that I can be a great help to those navigating the undergraduate and graduate program application and interviewing process.

My doctoral paper is a written treatment protocol focused on the implementation of a grief and loss process group for incarcerated men. I currently provide psychological services to high security male inmates.
