As a twice-published, award-winning novelist, and an experienced public speaker, I offer two types of tutoring services: Creative Writing in all genres and Public Speaking.

I specialize in teaching children, teens, and adults creative fiction writing skills through classes and private one-to-one lessons. I also teach essay writing and personal narrative writing, both which can be used for college applications or competitions. I cover many critical components in a successful piece, such as writing compelling description, creating rich dialogue, character development, and plotting techniques.

Writing:

Have you always wanted to write a short story, play, or book? Do you want to nurture a blossoming talent in yourself or your child? One-to-one online tutoring can help anyone demystify plot, characters, story structure, and revision techniques. I currently run several classes for learning centers, as well as help a roster of motivated private students.

My philosophy is to share what I have learned over decades with my students so that everyone can learn quickly and and efficiently.

My Bio:

A member of the Society of Children's Book Writers and Illustrators (SCBWI) for the past 18 years, I assumed the top regional leadership role for the San Francisco Bay Area, helping people pursue their publishing dreams. I've coached students in the Scholastic Art & Writing Awards and have been a judge for five years, including in 2023. I am the author of two traditionally-published, award-winning novels and have published over 100 articles.

Public Speaking:

I am a longstanding, award-winning member of Toastmasters. I have judged several public speaking competitions. You receive the added benefit of having an author help you, as my specialty is not just public speaking, but constructing powerful and memorable speeches.
