Hi there! Thanks for checking out my page! I am a current undergraduate student at the University of Colorado Boulder, double-majoring in International Affairs and Spanish. I was born and raised in San Francisco, and grew up visiting my father who lives in Mexico. I started taking Spanish when I was 10 and have taken the subject every year since then. I have lived in the south of Spain in an immersion program with a host family, I have done extracurricular activities such as salsa dancing, and overall have a deep love for the language and cultures of the Spanish world. I have worked with kids many times, including being an overnight summer camp counselor and a lead instructor at a scientific summer program. I also tutored Spanish in high school.
When tutoring, I mainly work with youth ages 10-16, but I can be flexible. I have a lot of experience working with kids and teens so I know how to customize for each age group. I started taking Spanish classes in 5th grade, so I know what each year looks like.
My main goal is to help tutees find their strengths as students and use them to overcome other challenges. I'm a strong believer in a growth mindset / approaching hard things with an open mind.
My lessons focus on exam / homework prep, general language proficiency, pronunciation, and any other helpful tools! We will make it work for you as a learner
