About Radha

Bio

I am Radha. I graduated from the University of Madras in Chennai with a Ph. D. in chemistry. The focus of my research work is on the isolation of compounds from medicinal plants and validating tribal knowledge. I have also worked in the synthesis and evaluation of some organic compounds during my graduate studies in one of the competitive agrochemical laboratory. A good teacher can ignite a spark in their students and make lessons more enjoyable, prompting students to look into the subject...

I am Radha. I graduated from the University of Madras in Chennai with a Ph. D. in chemistry. The focus of my research work is on the isolation of compounds from medicinal plants and validating tribal knowledge. I have also worked in the synthesis and evaluation of some organic compounds during my graduate studies in one of the competitive agrochemical laboratory. A good teacher can ignite a spark in their students and make lessons more enjoyable, prompting students to look into the subject more. I personally am thankful for having such engaging teachers and professors all throughout my high school and university career who always made concepts clear and easy to understand and I would like to do the same for students now.

I enjoy tutoring students because it is interesting to understand how the aspects of their curiosity play into their work and the sense of fulfillment I achieve after the student has understood a concept feels like an achievement to myself too. I assess a student's prior knowledge and tailor their lessons to build on what they already know, and how they can improve. My approach to teaching is based on structured lesson plans that help the students to proceed in the right direction that reinforces learning and retainment of information. I work with students according to their needs that can range from basic concepts or higher levels of problem-solving, and in a perspective that will make the student understand.

I’m a patient and effective teacher who loves to make learning fun. I started tutoring math and chemistry when I was in high school. During my college days, I continued my tutoring and homework help from middle to high school kids. Now I teach chemistry IB, Honors, and AP.
