An excellent tutor — knowledgeable, patient, and great with kids
We've been really happy with our experience. My son is in AP Calculus BC and was struggling to keep up, but his tutor has been incredibly knowledgeable and always comes prepared. What stands out most is the patience — never makes my son feel rushed or embarrassed for not getting something right away. Always willing to go over a concept as many times as needed. Scheduling has also been flexible and accommodating around our busy family schedule. Would absolutely recommend.

Gerry is the best math tutor ever!
Math had always been “just okay” for my daughter. Not her strongest subject, but not her weakest. In sixth grade, Sophie qualified for the double-accelerated math program and started in Math 7/8. However, the pace and difficulty became overwhelming. After her first test, she came home devastated with a C-. Even though she understood the basic concepts, the fast-paced structure made it hard for her to keep up. Despite studying, her grades stayed in the C range, and we even considered dropping her from the program. But Sophie didn’t want to give up and believed she could do it. That’s when we found Gerry on Wyzant. Gerry is an incredibly kind and patient tutor. She explains each problem step by step and always makes sure my daughter understands by asking her to walk her through the process. Over time my daughter's grades improved, from a C to a B. Gerry helped her build a strong math foundation by teaching and helping her catch up with the pace. Now, four years later, Sophie is in high school earning an A in Algebra 2 H and she genuinely enjoys math. Watching her growth has been amazing. Concepts that once felt impossible, especially more challenging problems, are now things she can confidently solve on her own. Gerry has supported Sophie from middle school to high school, and we couldn’t be more grateful. Her guidance, encouragement, and teaching style made all the difference. We are so proud of her journey, and we truly thank Gerry for being such a big part of it. She is an outstanding tutor, and I highly recommend her. Math improvement takes time, but with Gerry, it absolutely happens! :)

Professional and considerate
Gerry was great. She communicated with us before the lesson to make sure we could log in and use the whiteboard tools. We shared our math review sheet with her and she was well prepared to help our daughter solve the problems. Gerry was available last minute the day before our daughter had a test. We were so grateful for her availability. We underestimated the time it would take to complete the worksheet and Gerry helped our daughter prioritize the questions and was generous with her time. Outstanding detailed step by step easy to understand
Gerry was able to provide my son with a clear understanding of instantaneous rate of change with regard to functions and derivatives when having to solve for equations for lines tangent. She is extremely nice and easy to work with. She really helps you understand when you get stuck and fully answers your questions. Highly recommend! Thank you Gerry for all your help to get him ready for the AP test - it really boosted his confidence!
