I absolutely love teaching Chemistry and I will happily tutor students in Chemistry, Honors Chemistry and AP Chemistry. I have been a full time Chemistry teacher for 32 years. I have also taught conceptual Physics each of those 32 years. Additionally, I have taught AP Chem for the past 7 years. I am enthusiastic in my field and I can make the problems readily understandable and bring everyday examples for chemistry to help you learn it in an effective manner.
Primarily, I will provide you with specific methods to help you to determine what the questions are asking and how to systematically solve those problems. I will teach you how to use dimensional analysis to systemically derive the answers to difficult chemistry word problems. Overall, I will provide encouragement and a positive learning environment to maximize student learning of the concepts. I had a one hour lesson with Concettina and in that hour we managed to cover two weeks of material which left me feeling very prepared and confident! She was very professional and well informed. An excellent tutor!
Thank you for the kind words and excellent review.
I highly recommend her. My child came back with greater understand of chemistry in a short amount of time. Her way of teaching is just what we were looking for. She is very knowledgeable about the subject and is able to teach it in a very clear and understandable way. We will definitely use her again!
She was able to help my daughter with chemistry and gave her tips on studying. She went through the areas that my daughter was struggling with and made it very understandable.
Mrs Concettina was patient with my son and giving him a comprehensive review of what He learned from the school and beyond. My son really enjoyed the sessions and feels his understanding of the chemistry subject is improved, and more importantly, his confidence is being built up. Thanks.
I've known Mrs. S for the past two years now. Both of my children have been tutored by her and every lesson that she has provided has made them closer to be successful and confidant learners in Chemistry. I highly recommend Mrs. S. In fact my boys keep telling me that they wish they had her as their regular classroom teacher.
Thank you for your kind words. I am very happy that both of your sons have found the chemistry tutoring helpful to them. Please let me know if I can continue to help them in chem.
Connie has been an absolute blessing for our daughter! Connie is organized, thoughtful, patient and helpful. The step-by-step, one-on-one instruction was so helpful for our daughter, and it gave her the confidence to excel in Chemistry. I wish Connie was a tutor for all subjects, as we would sign up for every session available! Thank you Connie for your time and care this last term -- our daughter is thrilled with her grade and appreciates all you did to help her learn the material. Thank you!
It has been an absolute pleasure helping your daughter with Chemistry. She is a fantastic student and easily grasps the difficult concepts. I wish her well on her Chem final. I know that she will excel on it and all her other classes.
I found Connie through this website. Connie is a Chemistry/Physics teacher. It has been such a blessing to find Connie. Connie teaches using the same book, as do all the schools in the district. Her familiarity with the material, her outstanding knowledge of chemistry, and her ease of explaining difficult concepts make her a fantastic tutor. I highly recommend her with no reservations!
Thank you for the kind words. I really enjoy helping your daughter with Chemistry!
In most cases, tutors gain approval in a subject by passing a proficiency exam. For some subject areas, like music and art, tutors submit written requests to demonstrate their proficiency to potential students. If a tutor is interested but not yet approved in a subject, the subject will appear in non-bold font. Tutors need to be approved in a subject prior to beginning lessons.
Chemistry teacher for 28 years. AP Chemistry teacher for past 5 years. Physics teacher for past 25 years.
Students who I tutor can learn how to use the Microsoft Outlook program from me so that they can easily communicate with others. I am proficient in using Microsoft Outlook and can easily show students the benefits to this program. Students will learn how to attach documents to the email, how to use the voting buttons, and how to use the daily calendar to help them keep track of various events. Students will also learn how to use the reminder features for events that are upcoming as well as other features that come with the program. I am able to show students how to work with this program since I am use it on a daily basis.
Students whom I tutor will benefit from my knowledge of proper usage of spelling when writing essays and term papers. Students can give me their papers to proofread, and I will be able to easily provide them with a review of their papers in order to help them edit their work.
I am constantly reviewing students' paperwork, including but not limited to laboratory reports, research papers, and other FRQ responses to AP Chem tests. Students know that I will always look for proper spelling and grammer in their submitted papers. I have 26 years of teaching experience and countless years of reviewing and reading of research papers from students in my classes. I am extremely familiar with spelling rules and proper use of grammer rules when writing and editing papers. I can teach students in an efficient and timely manner how to use the proper rules for spelling to help them with their written work.
I am constantly implementing a variety of study skills in my daily classroom lessons. I teach students how to read through questions on a test to obtain the meaning before they choose an answer. I show students the value of making and learning flash cards to help them learn polyatomic ions. Additionally, I encourage small group and teamwork in the classroom to help students learn from one another.
