When I'm not doing math I enjoy playing piano and guitar, reading, and cake decorating!
I have been a private math tutor for 12+ years for elementary, junior high, high school and college students. As a Graduate Student Instructor at UC Berkeley, I taught calculus, probability, and combinatorics to undergraduate students and hosted math review sessions for 400+ students via Zoom and in-person.
As a Certificated Substitute Teacher I served long-term sub positions for high school mathematics. At Riverside Community College District, I provided 1-1 math and physics tutoring and was selected to host group mathematics training sessions for college students. I was selected to work as a Tutor-Training Researcher for Norco College on how to identify and address non-academic problems affecting students. I also served as a math and science Learning Coach for 4th - 9th graders at a private school in Corona. I have tutored multiple siblings in the same tutoring session and have tutored via online video chat such as Skype and Zoom.
I graduated with a Bachelor's in Math, minor in Statistics from UC Irvine and received a Master's in Statistics from UC Berkeley.
I like to provide my tutees with a variety of examples and strategies for approaching and solving problems. I am able to get a feel for the type of student I am working with and adjust to fit their learning style. I do my best to make the process engaging and interactive.
