The reason I became a tutor is because my daughter was diagnosed with dyslexia 12 years ago. At the time there was not a tutor that was affordable in our area. So, I took it upon myself to obtain the training and begin my tutoring experience. After completing the course, I became a certified tutor for students with dyslexia. The whole journey has been exceptionally rewarding.

My son has dyslexia and has difficulty reading. Michelle has worked with him for over a year and he has had wonderful improvement. His reading and comprehension scores have improved over 250 points. She utilizes the Susan Barton system and it has helped my son out tremendously! Thank you Michelle!
My 9 yr. old son is dyslexic and struggling with language arts. Under Michelle's tutelage he already seems to be doing better and it has only been 3 sessions! Michelle is firm but very nice about it, and she is patient. My son was quickly put to ease. She boosts confidence with compliments and points out what is done correctly instead of focusing on what was incorrect. What Michelle does see as incorrect she will simply repeat it with him until it is grasped. Wonderful tutor.
In most cases, tutors gain approval in a subject by passing a proficiency exam. For some subject areas, like music and art, tutors submit written requests to demonstrate their proficiency to potential students. If a tutor is interested but not yet approved in a subject, the subject will appear in non-bold font. Tutors need to be approved in a subject prior to beginning lessons.
