Bio

I am a Spanish teacher from Argentina. My mother tongue is Español and my second language is English. I have spent almost half of my life in Argentina and the other in the United States, where I received my higher education. I am a Spanish teacher from Argentina. My mother tongue is Español and my second language is English. I have spent almost half of my life in Argentina and the other in the United States, where I received my higher education. I have a Bachelor of Arts (BA) in Spanish, with an emphasis in Literature and Education, and Theater. Through my studies and personal experiences, I have gained knowledge of cultures across Latin America, the Caribbean and Spain, in addition to stories of Hispanic and Latinx individuals living in the United States. These pieces are quite useful to incorporate when teaching students about the varying accents, dialects, vocabulary, and traditions in these contexts. I have been teaching for over 16 years in both classroom settings as well as one-on-one sessions. My teaching experience ranges from Pre-K to high school, including bilingual and trilingual schools and adults of all age groups. I have also taught English as a Second Language (ESL) and drama. Today, I continue to tutor and give Spanish lessons one-on-one. I also enjoy rehearsing for plays and working with my improv group, watching movies, auditioning for films, yoga, cooking and world music!

I am an energetic teacher with a dynamic teaching style. I tend to ask many questions to keep students engaged and make sure they are learning. My teaching experience allows me to tailor my lessons for each specific student to meet their learning style. I like to give homework, grades and assign books according to what my students' needs are. I love teaching and thus I care a lot about my students, I always check on them in order to receive mutual feedback and make sure they are enjoying the lesson, the style and the homework dynamic:)--

Wonderful Spanish tutor

Flavia is really wonderful. She has been working with my 12 year old daughter weekly for this school year and we have seen great progress. My daughter went from D and C grades in Spanish to B and A. The key is that my daughter looks forward to her weekly session with Flavia and is into the learning process with her. Flavia provides regular feedback about the sessions and send notes after the session for my daughter to practice. Flavia has made it fun and productive at every step. I highly recommend her as a Spanish tutor.
