Bio

I bring a blend of academic achievement and hands-on experience to my role as a tutor. I graduated magna cum laude in Psychology from USC in 2017, and during these years I was hired by the school as a personal and group tutor in a variety of premed subjects. I also taught MCAT during my gap years, and I later was accepted to the USC Keck School of Medicine with a 98th percentile MCAT score. I graduated magna cum laude in Psychology from USC in 2017, and during these years I was hired by the school as a personal and group tutor in a variety of premed subjects. I also taught MCAT during my gap years, and I later was accepted to the USC Keck School of Medicine with a 98th percentile MCAT score. I graduated medical school with a 90th percentile Step 2 score, and am now currently completing Ophthalmology residency.

Drawing on my first-hand experiences in both academia, applying through AMCAS, TMDSAS, and AACOM, and applying to a competitive residency specialty, I am well-equipped to offer valuable insights and guidance through the medical school and residency application process. I understand the stress/uncertainties that applicants face with deadlines, application creation, personal statements, secondaries, and especially interviews. I personally owe my success to great mentors and tutors who have worked with me on improving my interview skills to fully present my hard work in the best light.

I am flexible to my students' needs and schedules. I have gone through almost 20+ medical school and residency interviews (formal, conversational, and MMI styles), and I would bring this first-hand knowledge to my students. I provide mock interview preparation to help students ace the important interview portion of the application cycle.

I am a medical student nearing graduation, and I have first hand knowledge of college admissions, medical school admissions, medical school success, and the pathways available in medicine. I applied through AMCAS, TMDSAS, and AACOM, so I am knowledgable in the requirements of each application service to medical school. I have worked with premed students at USC helping them in their medical school applications.

MCAT

I took the MCAT for application to medical school, and I achieved a score of 520, which was a 98th percentile at the time. I achieved a perfect score (132) in the CARS section.
USMLE

USMLE

I am a current 4th year medical student. On the USMLE step 1, I received a Pass (out of Pass/Fail). On the USMLE step 2, I achieved a 265, which is a 90th percentile.

Thoughtful and astute tutor!

If you are looking for guidance for anything med school, look no further. Kristy is the best tutor I’ve had as a premed. She helped me prepare for my first medical school interview with kindness and specificity. Some physician tutors seem distracted during sessions but not Kristy. She is fully present and takes notes during every part of our meeting. She illuminated parts of my interview performance that I hadn’t even thought of that needed work and was still very encouraging the whole time.
