I know how overwhelming science classes can feel, especially when lectures move fast and every topic seems connected to the next. My goal as a tutor is to make difficult material feel clear, organized, and manageable. I earned my Bachelor of Science in Neuroscience from the University of Nevada, Reno, and I recently completed my Master of Science in Medical Sciences at Western University of Health Sciences. I also scored a 23 in Biology on the DAT, with strong performance in nervous system and biology-related topics. My background includes neuroscience, anatomy, physiology, general biology, and health sciences, along with hands-on experience in cognitive neuroscience and genetics research labs. I have also worked in healthcare settings as a nursing assistant, pharmacy technician, and in dental/clinical environments, which helps me connect classroom material to real-life examples students can actually understand.
My tutoring approach is patient, encouraging, and focused on true understanding rather than memorizing random facts. I like to break complex topics into simple steps, use diagrams and examples, and help students recognize the patterns that commonly appear on quizzes, exams, and standardized tests. Whether a student is struggling with anatomy, physiology, biology, neuroscience, or study strategies, I work to meet them where they are and build from there. I want students to feel comfortable asking questions, even if they feel “behind” or unsure of themselves. I know what it is like to doubt your own ability in challenging science courses, and I also know how much confidence can grow with the right support. My goal is to help students not only improve their grades, but also feel more confident, prepared, and capable in the sciences.
