Hi, I'm Emily! I’m a PhD student in Educational Psychology with a Master's in Neuroscience. I graduated from my BA magna cum laude with double major in Neuroscience and Psychology. I’ve been tutoring psychology, neuroscience, and statistics for psychology since my undergraduate years, and I’ve taught a range of college-level courses as a graduate instructor and visiting faculty, including Statistics for Psychology, Social Psychology, and Educational Psychology. I also have experience teaching study skills and motivation strategies, which I integrate into my work with students when helpful.
In my research, I study student motivation—how to spark it, how to sustain it, and how to create environments where students can thrive. I care deeply about supporting students as whole individuals, not just test-takers, and I work hard to create a warm, non-judgmental space where you're free to ask questions, think out loud, and make mistakes as part of the learning process. I want our sessions to help you not only understand the material but also feel more confident and capable.
I’m happy to help with anything from big-picture concepts to specific assignments, whether you’re preparing for an exam, writing a paper, or just trying to figure out how to get started. I understand that every student is unique, and I’ll tailor my approach to fit your needs and goals.
