Hi, I'm Jun! I'm currently a student at UCLA pursuing a double major in Statistics and Data Science and Economics. In high school, I received a 1560 SAT and was the electrical engineering lead for our robotics team. Through this position, I learned how to truly teach. I started with just lecturing and telling the freshmen how to wire systems, solder, etc. but as they kept burning their fingers and drawing circuits that would short-circuit, I realized I needed to learn how to teach effectively. From then on, I let my fingers become the subject of burning and I followed each of my students individually through their circuit diagrams–this is the approach I strive to take every time I teach. I want to make sure to personalize and make sure all of the foundations are solid before moving on.
I tutored, created curriculums, and directed a non-profit tutoring organization located in Greater Boston, MA for three years of high school. This consisted of classes with 5-10 mostly middle school students. These classes were online, so I have experience teaching on both Zoom and Google Meet. Additionally, I have been private tutoring high schoolers on Math and SAT Math for a year.
Fresh out of high school, I have experience with the college application process and the activities relevant to high schoolers currently. I want to be able to help students not only with academics, but also college prep, school life, or anything else the student/parent suggests. I will always try to reply quickly so feel free to contact me with any additional questions or with lesson schedules!
