Hello, my name is Cassandra! I am a current first-year medical student at an MD school in California. From working my way through college applications, to tackling difficult pre-med courses such as Organic Chemistry in college, and most recently having gone through a rigorous medical school application cycle, I have gained numerous lessons. One of which, and perhaps the most important, was the importance of having a guide and mentor when navigating new obstacles. I, myself, relied heavily on my own mentors during that time.
This is why I worked as a tutor throughout high school and college, teaching subjects such as reading, math, science, ESL in small group and 1:1 settings. I loved working through problems with my students and sharing the joy that came out of our combined successes. I have also volunteered as a counselor to high school students, guiding them through the college application process. Now, having been accepted to medical school, I am especially prepared to offer advice on how to succeed in this field, as I know preparing for this process begins years before the actual application cycle.
Ultimately, I want to help the students that I work with as much as possible. That means that I am incredibly receptive to any requests, resources, or suggestions that my students make. I believe that tutors and students must work together to bring the best results. Please feel free to reach out if you have any questions, or would like to get to know me better before scheduling a lesson. Looking forward to hearing from you!
