About Lisa

Hello! I am a freelance science and history writer, and have been tutoring science, math (prealgebra, algebra, basic math) , English and writing since 2005. I have published books and many different articles covering a wide variety of science, history and technical product review topics. As a retired commercial industrial real estate appraiser with over 20 years experience, I am competent handling financial questions and economic problems. I can also tutor general computer topics, and Geographic Information Systems. Here are the subject topics I can tutor:

ACT Reading & Writing
ACT Algebra & PreAlgebra
ACT Science
Biology and General Botany
SAT Reading Writing
College Essays and Preparation
Geographic Information Systems (GIS)
Microsoft Office Suite
Real Estate
General Computer
History
Business Finance
Business Management and Leadership
Military Leadership & ASVAB Test

Whether it is writing essays, word problems, calculations or USING GIS, I engage my tutorial students to tackle the problem (in a fun way). If students didn't understand how to anser an essay question or complete a problem, we break it down together to grasp the concepts and complete the assignment feeling successful.

Everyone learns at a different pace and understanding. And there are different methods of learning.

Do I know everything about it? No, but that's the challenge! Am I good at finding answers? Yes.

Please contact me as your tutor, and let's move forward to reach your academic goals. Thanks!

Approved subjects are in bold.

Approved subjects

In most cases, tutors gain approval in a subject by passing a proficiency exam. For some subject areas, like music and art, tutors submit written requests to demonstrate their proficiency to potential students. If a tutor is interested but not yet approved in a subject, the subject will appear in non-bold font. Tutors need to be approved in a subject prior to beginning lessons.
