**Writing, Grammar, and Proofreading**

My discipline, philosophy, puts a premium on clear and compelling writing. I have acquired extensive experience helping students improve their argumentative writing skills over the course of my many years teaching philosophy in a university setting. Moreover, while at the University of Rochester, I took a course in Writing Pedagogy, and I used what I learned in this course to design and teach a course in college-level argumentative writing. Before entering grad school, I received a 740/800 on the Verbal section of the GRE. My doctoral dissertation in philosophy received the 2020 Outstanding Dissertation Award for the Arts and Humanities at the University of Rochester.

**Philosophy**

Are you taking a philosophy course that you're struggling with? Do you have a paper due that you can't seem to start or finish? Are you a life-long learner who simply wants a professional philosopher to guide you in an exploration of the deep questions of philosophy, such as: Does God exist? Is morality real? Can we know anything? What is a just political system? Do we have free will? If so, shoot me a message! I hold a PhD in philosophy from the University of Rochester, as well as a terminal master's degree in philosophy from Western Michigan University. My primary course of study was in Metaphysics and my secondary course of study was in Ethics, My dissertation was in personal identity, which lies at the intersection of metaphysics and ethics. I have 10+ years of experience teaching college studies of diverse backgrounds across several different institutions. I have designed and taught both online and in-person courses, and I have worked closely with students both as a professor and as a teacher's assistant.

Grammar

Grammar

Want to get a better feel for proper grammar? Grammar can be approached in two ways--intuitively, and via the application of rules. I can help improve your skills from either angle, or both. Whether you are a junior high school student, a college student, or a life-long learner, I can help you level up your grammar skills!
Philosophy

Philosophy

Are you taking a philosophy course that you're struggling with? Do you have a paper due that you can't seem to start or finish? Are you a life-long learner who simply wants a professional philosopher to guide you in an exploration of the deep questions of philosophy, such as: Does God exist? Is morality real? I love philosophy, and I love *teaching* philosophy even more! There's a reason why I have a Descartes quote tattooed on my arm! :)
Proofreading

Proofreading

I have an excellent eye for proofreading, honed over many years of practice and toil. I have had to proofread my own work throughout my higher education (I hold a PhD in philosophy), I have proofread in a professional context for a textbook company (Aplia), and I have 10 years of experience grammar checking my students' essays in the many college courses I have taught. Whether you want to learn how to spot errors better for yourself, or you simply want a second set of eyes for a specific essay or work (I know how valuable that can be!), I am here to help. I can proofread essays at any level, from junior high school through college and beyond.
Writing

Writing

I have earned several graduate degrees (Terminal MA and PhD) in a writing-intensive field (philosophy). I have taught college-level philosophy and critical writing courses for the better part of 10 years. I love helping students improve their essays and their overall writing chops--almost as much as I love writing itself! Whether you're having an issue with a specific essay and you want someone to offer constructive criticism, or you want to improve your overall writing skills, I'm here to help! I can teach any level, from junior high through college and beyond.

Great to work with!

I reached out to Kyle for help with Philosophy and Writing. He is highly skilled in both areas and has helped me tremendously. He is great to work with. He will go over concepts in a way that is easy to understand. I have already had a few ah-ha moments. I highly recommend him.

Patient as well as knowledgeable Tutor

Kyle gave great insight into the APA format and working on my prospectus. I like how he reviews and gives feedback. I am currently struggling on an assignment and he is very patient with my lack of understanding of some things. I would recommend Kyle.
