I have worked extremely hard to get to where I am today by achieving a 4.0 GPA at my current community college in addition to gaining leadership positions in various student clubs. Previously I was confident in my grades but I feared that my poor writing skills would leave me doomed. I can now say that I am confident in my essays, and I can rest easy knowing that if I don’t get in somewhere, it won’t be due to the quality of my essays.

Akeeka, THANK YOU!! Thank you for your compassion, leadership, faith, resilience and believing in me when I didn’t at times. Thank you also for your continuous support and motivation even when I thought about giving up. I am inspired by your dedication and I am truly grateful for you and your passion in wanting to help future nurses succeed. As Maya Angelou once said “be a rainbow in someone else’s cloud” and Akeeka was just that for me and I know she will be for you too!!

My work requires me to do frequent presentations to general public and to senior leadership within my organization. Shelley has helped me improve my public speaking skills. She is knowledgeable, is always prepared for the lessons and provides resources to continue learning in between lessons. Besides public speaking, we have also worked on skills to stay focused during long talks and continue to work on body language and projecting confidence. Shelley is very pleasant to work with.
