The only Calculus tutor at her school, is her current teacher. My daughter requested assistance, but her teacher's approach to Calculus was not being understood well by my daughter. She requested assistance from other peers, but the ones who did understand it couldn't explain it well. So I found a tutor on the internet. The first one was not a good fit...he had taken the summer off from college, and just lectured her in a lofty manner about Calculus in general - wasted $50 in my opinion!

Shayla advised me that the "Calculus I" course was less rigorous than the "Calculus and Analytic Geometry I " course. If you want a recognized calculus course for STEM purposes, take Analytic Geometry with Calculus.

Not only that, as his school doesn't offer AP Calculus BC, she offered to help him with that portion in order for him to take the AP Calculus BC exam rather than the AB. Needless to say, we have made the decision to use Margery on a regular basis, especially as Calculus can be a rather daunting class to teach oneself and she made it an enjoyable learning experience for my son.
