If you or your student is stuck in math, whether that means failing tests, losing confidence, or dreading homework, the issue is almost never effort. It is a missing foundational concept. I find exactly where that breakdown happened, rebuild it from the ground up, and watch the confidence return.

With a B.S. in Mathematics from Arizona State University, CRLA certification, and professional tutoring experience dating back to 2013, my instruction runs on one principle: patient, adaptive teaching that meets every student exactly where they are. When an explanation is not landing, I switch approaches until it clicks. This applies whether we are working through AP Calculus, AP Statistics, SAT and ACT Math prep, Precalculus, Algebra, Linear Algebra, or Differential Equations.

Using professional digital whiteboards and structured session reviews, every lesson builds toward true mathematical independence instead of just passing the next test.

Send me your syllabus, problems, notes, or your specific roadblock. We will build a concrete plan for your success.

Approved Subjects

ACT Math

ACT Math

With a B.S. in Mathematics and professional tutoring experience dating back to 2013, I specialize in helping students overcome the intense time pressure and tricky phrasing of the ACT Math section. Many students try to improve by blindly grinding through practice tests, but true score growth requires a first-principles understanding of exactly how the exam tests core concepts. We will systematically identify your specific knowledge gaps and rebuild them using logical, repeatable problem-solving strategies. Using structured session reviews and adaptive teaching methods, every lesson is designed to maximize your speed, accuracy, and overall test-day confidence. I received a 32 and 31 on my ACT math section both times I have taken it (junior and senior year of HS respectively).
Algebra 1

Algebra 1

As a CRLA Certified educator with a B.S. in Mathematics & over a decade of professional experience — my Algebra instruction goes far beyond rote memorization. The transition from arithmetic to algebra is notoriously difficult because it requires a fundamental shift from calculating raw numbers to analyzing variables logically. I utilize a first-principles methodology & proprietary digital whiteboards to diagnose foundational gaps & rebuild these core concepts from the ground up. By teaching students the underlying logic rather than just the formulas — they gain the crucial ability to re-derive rules under exam pressure & build true mathematical independence.
Algebra 2

Algebra 2

As a CRLA Certified educator with a B.S. in Mathematics & over a decade of professional experience — my Algebra 2 instruction bridges the gap between fundamental algebra & advanced pre-calculus. I strictly avoid rote memorization — utilizing a first-principles methodology to teach the underlying logic of complex functions & polynomials. By providing structured — analytical feedback — I help advanced students build the absolute mathematical independence required to conquer rigorous honors placement exams.
Calculus

Calculus

Specializing in University Calculus I-III, AP Calculus AB/BC, and Differential Calculus. When a student hits the "wall" in Calculus—it is rarely a lack of effort—it is a breakdown in foundational logic. As a CRLA Certified educator, I help students move past rote formula memorization into true, first-principles understanding. We utilize comprehensive digital workflows to systematically rebuild your analytical independence, ensuring you conquer every challenge from limits and derivatives to multivariable integration.
Differential Equations

Specializing in University Ordinary Differential Equations (ODEs) and advanced mathematical methods. I hold a B.S. in Mathematics with a concentrated focus on Physics—moving engineering students beyond rote calculation to build a deep conceptual understanding of the underlying logic. I specialize in dismantling complex applications, from the separation of variables across Cartesian, cylindrical, and spherical coordinates to rigorous Laplace transformations. Our sessions utilize professional digital whiteboards to map out the exact logical pathways required for absolute mastery.
Discrete Math

Discrete Math

Expert instruction in University Discrete Mathematics, Formal Logic, and Proof Writing. I hold a B.S. in Mathematics and my methodology is rooted in identifying and repairing foundational gaps in logical reasoning. Having mastered advanced proof-based coursework, I provide the structural tools required to navigate complex induction. We will utilize premium digital whiteboards to build your expertise from the ground up.
Finite Math

Finite Math

With a B.S. in Mathematics from Arizona State University and professional tutoring experience dating back to 2013, I specialize in helping college students master Finite Mathematics. Because this course is typically required for business and social science majors, my one-on-one instruction focuses on practical, real-world application rather than rote formula memorization. Over the past decade, I have helped numerous students successfully navigate and understand complex topics like linear programming, matrix algebra, financial mathematics, and Markov chains. Using professional digital whiteboards, we will break down these discrete structures using first-principles logic to ensure you achieve true analytical independence.
Linear Algebra

Linear Algebra

I have taken MAT342 (Linear Algebra) my freshmen year of college at Arizona State University with an A in the class and a 100% on the final exam. I watched and took notes on over 90% of the Khan Academy Linear Algebra videos. I have been tutoring Linear Algebra at ASU since May 2013.
Prealgebra

Prealgebra

With a B.S. in Mathematics and professional tutoring experience dating back to 2013, I specialize in helping students master the crucial transition into advanced math. Prealgebra is where many students first lose their confidence, which is why my instruction focuses on rebuilding core number sense and logical problem-solving instead of relying on repetitive drills. We will identify exactly where the foundational breakdown occurred and systematically repair those gaps using professional digital whiteboards and adaptive teaching methods. Every lesson is designed to replace frustration with genuine mathematical independence so your student is fully prepared for Algebra and beyond.
Precalculus

Precalculus

With a B.S. in Mathematics and professional tutoring experience dating back to 2013, I specialize in guiding students through the rigorous transition into Precalculus. Rather than relying on rote memorization, my instruction focuses on first-principles logic to ensure students truly understand the underlying mechanics of functions, trigonometry, conic sections, and complex numbers. We will systematically identify and rebuild any missing foundational concepts to transform frustration into genuine mathematical confidence. Using structured session reviews and adaptive teaching methods, every lesson is designed to prepare you for both your current exams and your future coursework in Calculus.
SAT Math

SAT Math

I received a 710 on the SAT math section my junior year of HS. Since then I have taken many more math classes and have tutored math for an average of 12 hours a week for a year since I've finished high school. (Updated Dec. 2013)
Statistics

Statistics

I specialize in dismantling the complexities of hypothesis testing, continuous and discrete probability distributions, linear regression, and inferential statistics. My methodology focuses on identifying foundational gaps and rebuilding analytical independence from the ground up. Whether navigating introductory university statistics or advanced engineering data analysis, our sessions utilize professional digital whiteboards to map out the exact logical pathways required for absolute mastery.
Trigonometry

Trigonometry

With a B.S. in Mathematics and professional tutoring experience dating back to 2013, I help students navigate the difficult transition from basic algebra to advanced spatial reasoning. Trigonometry is too often taught through rote memorization of the unit circle and complex identities, but my instruction breaks these concepts down using first-principles logic so they actually make sense. By identifying and rebuilding missing foundational pieces, we will replace frustration with genuine mathematical confidence. Using professional digital whiteboards and adaptive methods, every session is structured to ensure you are fully prepared for your current exams and future calculus courses.

Adam is amazing

Adam has been a true lifesaver for my daughter. We sought out tutoring because she wasn’t getting the support she needed in her math class, and Adam has made a huge difference. He teaches in a way she actually understands, which has helped her improve significantly in math from Algebra concepts like quadratics and linear equations to more advanced Geometry and Trigonometry. More importantly, he’s boosted her confidence, which has been huge. She’s doing much better in math now, and we’re very grateful for Adam’s support.

Tutor responded:

Hi Rafael — thank you for the kind words. Guiding students through the rigorous transition from Algebra to Trigonometry requires a strict focus on first-principles understanding. Emma's dedication to mastering these fundamental concepts is exactly what sparked this massive boost in her confidence. It is a pleasure working with her!

Great and patient tutor.

Before I worked with Adam, I was struggling with Calculus 1. I had to withdraw from Calculus 1 on my first attempt and failed on my second attempt. This semester feels dramatically different than the previous two. I feel like I have a much stronger grasp of the basic concepts of Calculus 1 now. Adam is a great and patient tutor who is willing to help you step by step, and he explained things in ways that were easier for me to understand conceptually and mechanically. His tutoring style fits perfectly with my learning needs because I am a person who needs patience and encouragement to help me grow. Thanks to Adam, I have a real chance at passing this course. I highly recommend Adam as your tutor if you're ever struggling. He is very knowledgeable, respectful, considerate, and responsive!

Tutor responded:

Hi Nolan, thank you so much for sharing your experience! Calculus 1 is one of the most challenging courses students face—and I know how discouraging it can feel to struggle through limits, derivatives, and integrals when the foundational concepts aren't clicking. Your persistence across multiple attempts shows incredible determination, and it has been a genuine privilege to work through those concepts together step by step. Building a strong conceptual and mechanical understanding of Calculus 1 is exactly what I focus on with every student—whether we're breaking down limits, working through differentiation rules, or tackling integration techniques. Every student learns differently, and taking the time to find the approach that works for you is always my priority. I'm confident you're going to pass this course, Nolan. If anyone reading this is struggling with Calculus 1, or any math course, and needs a patient, step-by-step tutor, I'd love to help. Feel free to reach out!

Great Communication, Noticeable Improvement

Excellent tutor!

Adam was able to explain calculus in such a way to my struggling daughter that she felt much more confident in taking her exam the next day. He was very good at adjusting his teaching to fit my daughter's understanding, or lack thereof. He could tell when she wasn't really following what he was saying and would switch gears to reach her with a different explanation or method of practice. This ability to know when to adjust a teaching method is truly a gift. He knows his stuff and teaches it well.

Extremely patient, helpful and knowledgeable

Adam was extremely patient, helpful, organized and knowledgeable in AP Calculus. My daughter had not taken Precalculus and was lost the first 2 weeks of class. We asked Adam to tutor her to catch up and prepare for a test. After a few sessions, Adam was able to teach my daughter what she needed to know to stay in the class and even received a good grade on the test. While my daughter really applied herself, if it wasn't for the extra help with Adam tutoring her she would not have done well on the test or be able to stay in the class. We can't thank him enough for his patience and knowledge. If you or your student needs tutoring in Math, I highly recommend Adam.
