A Few Math Tutor Qualifications

I am math and physics major at the University of Richmond now and understand the concepts very thoroughly and can explain them very well. I understand that math is a series of stepping stones to learning and am willing to work with students to help them grasp it every step of the way. I understand all of the concepts and applications deeply and can assure that I will provide good study techniques and knowledge that will help your student be successful.
Killian M.
I currently teach a subject, College Mathematics, at a local college. This class includes a unit in Boolean Algebra. We cover such topics as truth tables and solving syllogisms using truth tables and/or Euler circles.
James K.
I have found that the biggest problem students have with the SAT Math section is that they want to solve problems sequentially, when their strengths don't go that way. A student will end up spending too much time on a problem in the middle of the multiple choice and be left short at the end. I try to enforce giving students 45 seconds per multiple-choice problem, and try to convince students to skip problems and come back to them later if they don't know what to do on the spot. Another problem may help the student answer the one skipped - it happens all the time.My philosophy is to have students prepare harder for multiple-choice (many problems) than for student-produced responses (one problem, you don't know the subject ahead of time), because tutoring time must not be wasted.
Ron G.
Geometry is a really fun area of math, with lots of visual puzzles. I can help with geometric proofs, as well as explaining how circles, triangles, and various other shapes work together in 2 dimensions and 3 dimensions. No matter what you are struggling with in Geometry, I will make it easier to understand.
Steven W.
Bobby has spent more than a thousand hours helping high school students prepare for standardized university entrance exams. Not only has WyzAnt has approved him for geometry, algebra II, statistics, precalculus, and calculus, but he has taught all these subjects in the classroom and in both in-person and online tutoring situations.
Bobby J.
I hold a bachelor of science degree from UNLV. My major required many math courses including elementary math.
Christopher O.
I have taken calculus 1, 2 and 3. And I have been tutoring calculus since my freshman year of college. My physics background enables me to frame many seemingly abstract concepts in a physical manner. I teach general problem solving skills and approaches and then use problems to test the students progress.
William B.
I have been teaching Math at Vernon Hills High School since 2009. I have taught algebra, geometry, and computer science. In addition, I have provided Math Resource help since 2009, which includes a lot of students who struggle in Algebra and Geometry. I have tutored students in ACT Math prep before and I am looking for more.
Adam L.
I teach Prealgebra to 5th graders for the past three years. I really enjoy teaching these concepts. I have been teaching this at Basis with 5th graders for the past 3 years and I taught 6th grade for my first year of teaching at Basis. I have been teaching these concepts to other elementary and middle school students when I took part of a University of Arizona tutoring class. I enjoy tutoring students who are struggling with these concepts because I want to help them out with what they are struggling with and help them feel better when they understand the concepts. I know I always feel good when helping other students.
Alex S.
I have taught Linear Algebra some 15 times at Touro College. Depending on the student body, some of the courses were of a more theoretical nature based on the study of Vector Spaces, some were geared toward programming - usually with APL, and some were typical one semester undergraduate courses based on matrix Manipulation.
