About Anastasia:

I recently graduated from The University of Oregon (Eugene) with Master's degree in Russian literature, where I was also teaching Russian to university students for two years. I am a native speaker of Russian. I speak fluent Russian and English and know the grammar of both languages.

I also have a degree in linguistic from the State Linguistic University of Irkutsk (Russia). I have a lot of experience teaching English as a second language both in the university to groups of students and as a private tutor one on one with a student. I went through the process of learning English myself and succeeded to enter the university in the United States.

I can help my students learn Russian/English, speak the language and understand its grammar

More On Anastasia's Subjects:

  • ESL/ESOL

I got my first degree in linguistics and teaching English 4 years ago. After that I was working as an English Language assistant in one of the universities in Russia teaching grammar, practice and listening comprehension courses. Besides teaching in the university I gave private classes to students who had different levels of English (from beginners to advanced students), although I prefer to work with students who have intermediate level of English. While I was getting my Master's degree in the University of Oregon I gave private English classes to Asian students preparing them for their English entrance exam. I am very good at explaining grammar to students using schemes and tables; that makes it easier for students to understand. I used to study English as a second language myself. That helps me well understand ESL students' needs.

  • Russian

I spent 2 years teaching students in the University of Oregon (Eugene). I was teaching 1st and 2nd year Russian as well as a course in spoken Russian, so I am very familiar with Russian teaching program on the university level. For learning a language it is very important to know its grammatical structure and its culture. Since I am a native speaker of Russian and a linguist I can teach you all aspects of this difficult language. We can also make it fun together having conversational, grammatical and even video classes.
