About Katherine:

I am a current college student working my way towards a Bachelor's Degree. As I make my own success and accomplishments in life, I'm looking to reach out to others who may need a little help getting there. I love tutoring, and although don't have extensive experience, I have tutored from a young age. I think helping the community and giving back is an important way to reach out to the next "it" generation. I tend to teach in a "classic" method of memorization and practice, but also like to create new and innovative ideas to help kids get motivated for success and help them empower themselves to do better. I can relate well with kids, and know how to communicate with them in a health way.

More On Katherine's Subjects:

  • softball

I have been playing softball since the age of 6, which gives me a total of 13 years experience so far. I played whenever I could get the change, with rec-ball league, all-stars, and some travel teams. I played for leagues such as La Habra and Brea, and won trophies and special awards for my performance every year. I won the "presidents cup" in 14 and under, which signified excellence in the league and great abilities in all areas. I've pitched all 13 years of experience, and have had experience teaching other girls how to as well. I was an all-around player in the field as well, mostly specializing at shortstop, second base, and catcher. When I went to high school I played on the Varsity team my Junior year and played second base as my main position. As a hitter, I was always known as the start-off because I was an all-around good start to the game, usually getting on base in any means whether it be a solid hit, or a bunt. I'm also a fast runner and know how to teach sliding and reaching the base on the right foot. I was taught by the best (my dad) and have a few tricks up my sleve that I'd love to share with other younger girls who have a passion for this sport.
