When scheduling test preparation sessions, Cynthia recommends that students arrange one month (or more) of college entrance exam preparation to obtain the greatest benefit and the best results.

She asks that students schedule tutoring sessions ONE WEEK IN ADVANCE to ensure her availability for the days and times needed. The tutoring session hourly rate is per person or per group (each individual in the group is assessed a group rate arranged in advance).

Cynthia's approach is to assess the student's individual academic needs and to customize her tutoring to ensure that the student achieves, improves, and benefits from her program. Most students improve by as much as 20 percent on test scores. Parents are encouraged to participate, if possible, as their support makes a significant difference in their child's academic progress and success.

Cynthia provides assistance with SAT and ACT math, English, reading and science, pre-Algebra, Algebra 1 and 2, Geometry, Pre-calculus, biology, honors chemistry, high school and college level essay writing, English language arts, and U.S. and world history.

Cynthia hold a bachelor's degree in English and World Literature with minor specializations in Spanish Literature and General Biology from the University of California at San Diego.

We searched hard for ACT teachers and nothing was working out . Fortunately we connected with Cynthia and there was no looking back after that. She is so prompt , so well prepared. Our daughter wanted to improve her score in the SAT Writing section. She was struggling a bit with some topics so we got some sessions for her with Cynthia and we're glad we did! In just three sessions, a couple of weeks before the big day, Cynthia helped our daughter go from the 96th percentile in the SAT Writing section to the 99th percentile. Overall, our daughter improved from 1,400 to 1,530. Cynthia's help with questions types and strategies for dealing with the section, as well as patience and encouragement really made a difference.
