I attended high at the competitive Governor's School for Government and International Studies in Richmond, VA. While in high school, I played field hockey and soccer, and was very involved with the Model United Nations Organization, and I served as Co-President of the National Honor's Society.
In college, While pursuing a Bachelors of Science in Marketing with minors in Global Business and French for Business, I spent the better part of my senior year of college running the International Relations Organization of Virginia Tech (IROVT). Under my leadership, our organization grew from 30 members to hosting a number of events that catered to audiences of over 300 people. I hosted events dealing with issues ranging from Darfur, to Romanian orphans, and I also hosted a number of Model UN conferences. My freshman year of college, I did a co-op in Orlando, Fl. with Walt Disney World, and I studied abroad in southern Switzerland my junior year.
In the classroom, I stood out among my peers by taking an international spin on any given marketing project whenever possible. Thus, your company catering to the international marketplace speaks directly to my interests.
After college, I spent 5 weeks in Africa on a humanitarian trip I helped organize; I subsequently spent seven months in Lyon, France teaching English and tutoring French-speaking businesspeople in English on basic business topics. I am nearly fluent in French.
Although my masters will be in International Affairs, I hope to have a career in Development, which uses a lot of math, economics, and business. My strengths generally lie in math, though my interests in liberal arts, thus I feel qualified to tutor in several subjects.
