    I have been teaching elementary education for 12 years. My teacher certification is in the area of Special and General Education, all subjects - K-12. I teach reading, writing, math, social studies, language arts, music and art. I have a Master's In Teaching. I am comfortable tutoring all language based subjects through grade 12 and beyond. With math, my comfort level is up to 8th grade. Multiple subject teaching means that I have acquired state proficiency in teaching the above mentioned subjects, and have taught students with many learning styles and challenges. I have become extremely proficient in designing curriculum, with learning goals/objectives and assessment techniques.

    I began music study at the age of 6 and continued through high school. This spans a period of over 20 years. I have sung in choirs for a period of 25 years which includes ensembles, with orchestras, and solo performances. As a substitute teacher I have taught in numerous music settings at all grade levels for the last 12 years.

    I began private piano lessons at the age of 6 at a very well known and highly respected performing arts school in the state in which I live. Music was always a major part of my childhood, singing and playing the piano kept me engaged socially, emotionally. Every weeks lesson was focused on preparation for performing in monthly "assemblies" or the yearly piano recital held on stage. By high school I was playing Bach, Brahams, Beethoven, and Mozart by memory.

    Singing in choirs and taking private vocal lessons and touring with choirs has been a major part of my life. I sang with small Madrigal groups to huge choirs, accompanied by orchestras.
