I am a young teacher with 5 years of teaching experience. I have taught first grade for five years. I have had extensive training in various reading and leadership programs such as Reading First, Marzano's Instructional Strategies, Open Court Phonics, Fountas & Pinnell Reading, Guided Reading, and Lucy Calkins' Writer's Workshops. I have also had extensive training in math programs such as Everyday Math, Investigations Math, and Scott Foresman.
I incorporate a wide range of interactive and individualized games, puzzles, and songs for all learners. I am very active and energetic and love to get children up and moving!
Over the past year, I have taught in a classroom to which half of my classroom population has been English as a Second Language (ESL) Learners (their fluent language is Spanish).
