In the fall, I will commence my junior year at the University of Pennsylvania. I was also admitted to Dartmouth College, Duke University, Cornell University and Northwestern University. I have a great deal of experience with the college admissions process, and I am very familiar with the SAT, ACT and Advanced Placement examinations. I would love to help other students get into the colleges of their dreams via consulting on applications, essays, etc.

In terms of my personal experience with standardized tests, I received perfect scores on both the reading and math sections of the ACT and the math section of the SAT; I also took 16 AP Exams. My students find my testing strategies to be extremely effective come test day, and they find that they result in remarkable gains once scores come through.

Having spent the last five years tutoring students in public speaking, I have a great deal of experience and look forward to continue tutoring over the summer. I am interested in tutoring in math (Algebra I to AP Calculus BC), English (SAT/ACT Prep to AP English Lang/Lit), introductory economics and history (any level).

Algebra 1

I have been fostering my Algebra I since I took the course in seventh grade.

Algebra 2

I took Algebra II in ninth grade, and I have fostered my math skills up to Calculus level ever since.

American History

I took AP American History. I did extremely well on the AP Exam, and I received a 760 on the American History SAT Subject Test.

Calculus

I am familiar with AP Calculus AB and BC. I received a score of "5" on both exams.

Vocabulary

My work in 16 AP classes has expanded my vocabulary tremendously; I received a 740 on the SAT Reading section, a section which tests your vocabulary skills.

Grammar

I have taken a deep interest in grammar as a result of my involvement in AP English. You could call me a little obsessed.

European History

I took AP European History, and I received a 5 on the AP Exam.

Geometry

I received a certificate in college geometry at Davidson College through the Duke TIP program when I was in the seventh grade; I took the course at my school in eighth grade.

Microsoft Word

Microsoft Word is my word processor of choice; I have probably used Microsoft Word to create more than 1,000 documents.

Microsoft PowerPoint

I have made hundreds of PowerPoint presentations.

Prealgebra

I have honing my mathematical abilities since I took pre-algebra in sixth grade.

Reading

Reading is my strength; I had to read 30 classical texts in coordination with my AP English classes. I received a perfect score of 36 on the ACT Reading section.

Writing

My work in AP English Language and Composition and AP English Literature and Composition have honed my writing abilities tremendously. I received a 5 on the AP English Language and Composition exam, and I have yet to receive my score on the AP English Literature and Composition. I am very familiar with how to structure essays, especially essays utilized on standardized tests.

Statistics

I am very familiar with statistics, and I passed the AP Statistics exam.

Geography

I just completed AP Human Geography.

English

I have taken both AP English Language and Composition and AP English Literature and Composition. I received a 5 on the AP English Language and Composition exam, and I have yet to receive my AP English Literature and Composition score.

Government & Politics

Government and politics is my strongest subject. I just completed AP Government and Politics, and I received a perfect score (not just a 5 but a legitimate perfect score!) on a practice AP Government exam administered at my school; I have yet to receive my official AP Government score. My knowledge of government was cultivated during my time spent interning in a Congressional office in Washington, DC. My intended major is political science.

Psychology

I am extremely interested in psychology, and I took AP Psychology.

SAT Math

I received a perfect score of 800 on the SAT Math section. I am very familiar with the format.

Literature

I just completed AP English Literature and Composition, and I have read close to 30 classical texts over the past two years alone. I have spent a great deal of time analyzing these texts and writing essays on these works. I am also familiar with the SAT Literature Subject Test.

World History

Having taken AP World History and AP European History, I am very skilled in this subject.

Economics

I have taken both AP Macroeconomics and AP Microeconomics.

Proofreading

Having written college essays and essays for AP English, I am very familiar with the proofreading process. People call me a "grammar nazi" and find my attention to proper spelling somewhat obsessive.

GED

My work in 16 AP classes, and high scores on both the SAT/ACT, validate my ability to perform the skill sets tested on the GED.

SAT Reading

I received a score of 740 on the SAT Reading. I am very familiar with the format.

SAT Writing

I received a score of 730 on the SAT Writing section. I am very familiar with the format.

TOEFL

My high scores on the PSAT, SAT and ACT validate my abilities to perform the skill sets tested on the TOEFL.

PSAT

As a National Merit Commended Status student, I have a great deal of experience with the PSAT.

SSAT

My high scores on the PSAT, SAT and ACT validate my abilities to perform the skill sets tested on the SSAT.

ACT Reading

I am very familiar with the ACT Reading section; I received a perfect score of 36 on this section.

ACT English

I am very familiar with the ACT; I received a 34 on the exam.

ACT Math

I am very familiar with the ACT Math; I received a perfect score of 36 on this section.

Public Speaking

At one point during the year, I was ranked number 6 in the country in Public Forum Debate, putting me in the top .5% of debaters nation-wide. Public speaking is my thing, and I have worked with over 200 students over the past five years and assisted them in honing their public speaking skills. I am a National Forensic League Member of Premier Distinction and was proud to receive their prestigious All-American Award about a year ago.

College Counseling

I have a great deal of experience with college admissions, especially ivy league admissions. I was admitted to three of the eight ivy league schools before selecting UPenn. I am familiar with all of the aspects of the admissions process, including alumni interviews, essay writing, test preparation, etc.

Art History

I just completed AP Art History, and I have spent a great deal of time in art museums.

Criminal Justice

I have completed college level criminal justice coursework, and have a significant amount of background knowledge in the subject, especially when it comes to Supreme Court cases.

Social Studies

Having taken AP European History, AP American History, AP World History, AP Psychology, AP Human Geography, AP Government and Politics, AP Macroeconomics, and AP Microeconomics, I am very familiar with social studies.

Film

Having spent the last five years in the entertainment industry (my sister is an actress), I am very familiar with filmmaking, the production process and show business in general. I am an award-winning filmmaker; I have won second prize in the nation (twice) in C-SPAN's StudentCam Video Documentary Competition.
