Storytelling is my specialty, and I have helped dozens of students develop extraordinarily compelling personal essays. I hold a B.A. in Computer Science from UC Berkeley and an MFA in Dramatic Writing from NYU Tisch School of the Arts, where I now teach as an Adjunct Professor. I hold six degrees in total, including A.A.'s in Math, Physics, Chemistry, and Applied Sciences from Santa Barbara City College.

I have seven years of professional experience as a college admissions consultant, following three years of informal coaching, for a combined decade working directly with high school students on the college application process.

My approach is grounded in narrative craft: I am a formally trained Dramatic Writer and spent six years at Disney Animation, where my job centered on storytelling. I apply my story chops to help each student find and articulate what makes their own story special. Your essay will sound distinct amongst a sea of students defaulting to generic essays that read like receipts.

My work has been almost entirely one-on-one, with students primarily ages 14–18 (high school freshmen through seniors), covering the full arc of the admissions process: essay brainstorming and drafting, extracurricular positioning, school list strategy, and interview preparation. Students I've supported have gone onto many top 30 institutions including Yale, Princeton, UChicago, UCLA, UMich, USC, UIUC, UCSD, and many more.

Kadie has helped me immensely with my college application process offering me her great expertise with all my supplemental essays. She has made me feel comfortable and overall increased my confidence this admissions season. She is always willing to help and is great at editing complex ideas, maintaining your voice while ensuring that it is still a cohesive narrative for admissions officers to read. Highly recommend her to anyone who needs guidance during the admissions cycle.

I had a great experience with Kadie from start to finish. She helped me brainstorm ideas for my essay without judgment, gave me personalized college recommendations based on my interests, and managed to help me reach both my word count and my application deadline without stress, even though I started late! I highly recommend her for anyone that doesn't know where to start when it comes to college applications—she makes the process so much easier.

Accommodating and very helpful writing tutor!

Kadie helped review my college essay supplementals, and she was very constructive and specific about her feedback in my essays. I like how she revised my essay, without taking away the main idea and topic of my essay (like some tutors may do). Her feedback towards my essays made them stronger in not only grammar, but also the tone and structure in them. She is also incredibly kind and messages back fast. I highly recommend her as a writing tutor!
