I recently graduated with a B.S. in Biochemistry from Houghton College where I maintained 3.98 GPA and 4.0 science GPA. I have had significant science and math course work and feel very confident tutoring chemistry, biology, physics and certain math courses. During college I tutored for Organic Chemistry, General Chemistry, Physics, Genetics, General Biology, Calculus and have taught an MCAT prep course.

I enjoy tutoring one on one or in small groups. I have a strong knowledge base, great analytical skills which help me understand where students are 'held up' and good ability to relate material in ways which students understand because of previous experience. I enjoy tutoring in one on one or in small groups because it allows students to feel comfortable asking questions and the personal attention is key in ensuring that students understand the material.

I have been playing chess for more than 15 years now. Throughout high school and college I was involved in chess clubs, I play online and I have other resources to help master openings and endings of games.

MCAT

I have taken the MCAT exam and scored in the 99th percentile. This past spring I taught a prep course for students in college so I have significant experience mastering the MCAT and helping others to do so.

Genetics

I took Genetics while in college and achieved a high A. I have since taken more advanced and related biology courses and have been a TA for a college level genetics class.

Organic Chemistry

I took Organic Chemistry 1 & 2 at Houghton College and achieved high A's both semesters. I then tutored other students in the subject for 2 years and have been a teaching/lab assistant for the class for a year. I have significant experience helping students understand and excel in Organic Chemistry.
