My strategy for tutoring is to have a student become confident in their task. My plan is preparation and awareness. I take the subject at hand and prepare a student on how to be prepared for class, be ready for quizzes and tests and to be attentive and interested in a class. I have outline methods and study methods that will make a student successful in their goals.
In baseball, my goal is to have the player become prepared and to learn proper fundamentals in fielding, hitting and pitching. My specialty is pitching, where I work on proper mechanics and the mental approach of pitching. I also focus on how a player can have a better baseball IQ, which will help them in their goals. In 1995, I was Washington Post All Met Coach of the Year.
I am assistant instructor in a Japanese martial art known as Aikido. Aikido is more than a self-defense art. It's an art that teaches an individual how to handle conflicts and resolution in their lives and also helps an individual with their goals in life and their everyday trials and tribulations. It helps an individual with flexibility of their body and mind. My rank is 2nd kyu.
I have taught history for 35 years to M.S. and H.S. students and my students always enjoyed my class. I made history important to them because of my passion for the subject.
